Couldn't agree more. Why wouldn't you want to check out your lines and braking points on your best laps?

Great thread, good to hear all the recommendations. I just bought HLT for my iPhone5 (the GP edition $27 because it can do multicam - I have a spare older iPhone4 so I can record with both cams at once) and an [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AOIM2CC/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1"]ELM327 Wifi unit[/ame] and this [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G3KN9LI/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1"]TechMatte ProGrip Universal Windshield[/ame] Car Mount. Looking forward to hooking it all up in preparation for my first time on track HPDE in June. Excited!

I see you're not going to the track until June, but have you played with that wifi unit connected to HLT just to see how well it works? I'd like to know how it's working if you have.
Thanks!

Track Junkies: Harry's Lap Timer, worth $20 bucks

I tried RAM with xgrip and iphone 5, not great as it can vibrate a lot during hot laps on track. Strange design, when you secure the phone into the xgrip, the entire xgrip piece can rotate very easily by about 45 degrees. I just got the tight fit RAM iphone 5 cradle and will try that instead. I also use GoPro attached to the rear window and pointing forward at about the eye level, to watch hand and steering wheel motions.

I also use Harry's Laptimer for basic (no OBD2, though I have Kiwi WiFi, since my P3 gauge stays connected) data recording, with Dual 5Hz GPS. I use OBD2 Kiwi WiFi and Dash Command for diagnostic and data recording as needed.

HLT is great, I have used it with multicam mode (a go pro for a second angle), and also the OBDII plug to get rpm. I also have a fancy GPS external module, the VBOX sport, and it connect to HLT wirelessly to get extremely good accuracy on speed and forces.

This portable setup offer an amazing amount of information and you can move it from car to car.

But once you add it all up, you could as well buy a used TRAQMATE on ebay for less, but the wiring and then processing of the information on the computer is a much bigger pain in the ass.

HLT offer an amazing amount of flexibility.

MY QUESTION: does anybody managed to get oil temp on their HLT ? my ODBII plug, GoPoint BT1 can't get it.

HLT on my Android sees oil and coolant temperatures fine. Using an OBDLink LX adapter.

There was an update either late summer or early fall that enabled oil temp.

It is picked up by my OBD-II reader, OBD Link MX.
