So it is possible to get close to 7l/100km.
I've have my car for 3 weeks now and have never gotten close to that economy. 1st week, 12-13l/100km 2nd week, in the 10-11's 3rd week now and I finally hit 9.9 Either I'm driving $hit or it's my distances. I try to keep to the shift indicator or as close to 2000rpm as possible. Bearing in mind 80% of my distances are short. I hardly get to the highway. |

Yep, short distances and town driving really messes up your fuel cons. My ST sometimes returns 17l/100km when I've been doing short trips in town but on the open road it's hovering around 8.

@Razzle
Three rules! 1. Don't drive it like you stole it. (not everyday at least!) 2. Make sure you are light on the throttle pedal. (very sensitive!) 3. Make sure you are in the right gear for the situation - don't let the engine labour at all! Change down for the hill and then back up quickly. Also you're in CT! Chill out man! Rather than enciting fear, envy is just as rewarding! |

Thanx Vic
Down to 9.8l/100km I've actually been driving very modestly. I change between 2-3K rpm Now and then I put foot, but its not for very long. Thing is everything is within =- 10km from home. Work, 3km parents, 3km in-laws, 1km shops, 2-5km friends, max 10km Been taking a coupla drives out to Somerset West on this tank just to put some km's on the car. mileage 1300 |

Also keep in mind the engine is still very tight. Only now after 6500km is my consumption settling. Also I travel 26 -28km to work every day with about 6 of them being hilly back roads and the rest highway. Also when you fill up again before a long trip reset your average consumption and start from scratch.
Keep the dynamic consumption meter on for open bits of highway and see how pedal pressure makes a difference. It's crazy! Quote:

Here is my car's fuel cons since day one:
![]() It's been very high the last couple of tanks because of heavy traffic. Mileage made pretty much zero difference, only traffic, distance and driving style. Best cons to date was soon after I got it.
