BLOX makes an "FR-S style" shift knob that you may want to look into since it incorporates the reverse lockout mechanism

Every single time I am going to buy something I do TONS and i mean TONS of research before deciding which way to go (that ensures no regrets on the purchase). After doing all of this, I came to the conclusion that while I was looking for an under $50 shift knob, it would be nice to go for quality under $150 since this will be used at least for the life of the car. I got the Stainless Steel Sphere from WC Lathewerks. I can absolutely tell you it is worth every penny it cost (off the top of my head I think it was $135). Keep in mind this is coming from someone who couldn't care less for a custom shiftknob.

I wholeheartedly recommend WC Lathewerks. Chris (owner and machinist) is very honest and straightforward. At least look it up and research it before deciding
I absolutely agree with you. While I went with something a bit more exotic/expensive, he was incredibly helpful throughout the process, prompt in replies, and returned an amazingly high quality one-of-a-kind piece.

More here if interested in seeing mine, or here for what I started with on Chris' website.

looking for "experts" who have used many shift knobs in their life that were custom.

What is the right weight you would say feels not to heavy in you hand before installation? I made a custom knob myself as a trophy for someone out of 303 stainless in the size I would want for myself if I used it , and it was EXTREMELY heavy. Far to heavy in my opinion. SO I am looking at alternates besides titanium. I heard Flossy makes "weighted" shift knobs yet show nothing to say they actually weighted one or just use the term.

Feed back is more than welcome.!!!

This isnt my flossy shift knob but i have the same style one, its the grip tape shorty.

heres a link if you would like to read about it.
http://www.shopflossy.com/collection...ape-shorty-blk

Its 500 grams which seems to be about double the stock weight from holding it. i haven't weighed the stock knob so i cant say for sure but is seems like a good guess.

i would defiantly recommend something around that weight, maybe a couple hundred grams more at the most, but i wouldnt want to over do it.

I'm running a VooDoo knob. Feels and looks great. Also a bargain at $40. Top notch quality too.

I have a limited addition 86fest flossy shift knob and I love it. Well worth the money in my opinion. Best part is you can customize your shift knob to your liking.

I actually have the TRD knob, and love it. It's one of those where it isn't immediately apparent as to why its better than stock, till after you drive with it. It fits the contours of your hand surprisingly well. Anyway, I got mine from Carson Toyota, and no, they're not cheap. Yay JDM in a time of shitty exchange rates.

fyi the stock FRS/BRZ knob is 197g.

I'll put in a good word for Moddiction's stainless steel knobs. Got an engraved 6-speed Anvil 2 for about $80. It weighs about 400g so it's just about double the weight of the stock knob. I have to say that although a knob may feel super heavy in your hand, it is less significant once it's installed on the shifter. So yeah I would recommend a heavy knob, 400g or higher to get the benefits everyone is talking about, smoothing the shifts and removing the notchy feel.

I would also LOVE to get my hands on the TRD one, that apparently some other countries have got already but nothing for the US! If anyone knows where people in the US can get their hands on this one. The ones on some of the online sites list it for $169.00. Seems a little high. Let me know what you guys think!!!
PM me! I think we can help
