youll never maximize gains without a tunes its been proven time and time again. the mods will show improvement but like i stated already ive gotten datalogs from customers who already had a tune and the afr was 1-1.5 afr richer than prior to installing the pipes. i expect that since removing the secondary cat richens up the system quite a bit. and running too much fool limit power output. this is why all the ecutek tunes removes all the excess fuel and we gain 10+whp. too rich="bad" if you had. adversely i did notice that with just the pipes the car on the stock air box leaned out ebough that it gained power but afr was in the high 13s which explains why a stock car shows gains with the pipes only before an intake is added. granted the gains are there but high 13s isnt going to be healthy over the long run.

One thing I'm not clear on, if i purchased the intake only would i require a tune for it to run safely and with good drive-ability?

Does the intake require any cutting or removal of that plastic clip on the upper radiator guard?

the intake tube diameter doesnt mandate a tune. and will still yield the standard gains of 8-10hp i would honestly say that these hg gains will be more consistent on road speeds feeding cooler air from outside the engine bay.

So with the overpipe, front pipe, and intake (but no tune) the car maxes out at about 130 whp.
And you say the intake makes a "standard gain of 8-10 hp".
So this car maxed out at about 120 whp on your dyno in completely stock form? (my definition of stock is "no mods")

This is what i wasn't sure about. But if you read carefully its the exhaust that requires the tune

I will have all the parts off the car in the morning to run the car bone stock untuned i would assume it should make somewhere around 145hp and it should make around 155hp with the intake. those are the only 2 dyno runs i have let to do. to finalize all our baselines. im sure once we get at least a full tank of gas run through her she'll make more power baseline as well as with the mods. remember guys this car is fresh off the lot with only 80 miles on her.

ft86 speedfactory can get you one of our tunes since you shop with them. but yes the catless version cause a richer overall mixture. youll probably pickup power since you already have an intake though but if you went with front pipe and catless pipe you would be on the rich side.
