Toyota took a look at my mats, advised that there is no warranty claim. The mat is the mat.
Took photos and logged as a fault.
I then advised that I was charged for the mats, so hence I should get 1 year warranty on the part... that got them, put in a claim lets see,...

In Page 2 alot of the guys chose Pic 3 for the location of the 86 emblem. Having a look at my mats I saw there is already a 86 emblem in that location. Is this not the case for all the 86 mat given with our cars ?

I am making up an entirely new mat that will be my days to day use, as the OEM mats will not last, even with a heel pad, the carpet is too thin with no backing.
What you have done was option 2.
I have just come from the manufacturer, they are making me up a charcoal and a black set, as I am going to fit the 86 piston emblem into the carpet to match my build theme, so want to see which color will best suite my 86.
The embroidery of the red or silver 86 is the option.

Drivers heel pad solution in case you guys missed it

Drivers heel pad - simple solution to make a heel pad for the drivers stock mat that looks fantastic as below for about $15 in total.

One of our 86 club members here in New Zealand, Peter Sullivan, who is not a member of this forum came up with this brilliant solution and has given me permission to share his DIY writeup with you all.

From Peter:

I purchased a rubber door mat from "The Warehouse" (this is our cheap general purpose big box store like walmart in the USA) for $9.99 and this was sufficient to make 6 heel pads for the 86 drivers mat. It has raised ridges one side and is PERFECTLY SMOOTH on the other - This is important. The backing needs to be smooth without any dimples or non-slip bits. TIP - have a look at the household rubber mats section of the store rather than rubber car mats as most of the rubber car mats will have dimples etc - the household mats won't.

From this I cut a piece measuring 250mm by 150mm using sharp knife. To cut the corners I used an NZ 10 cent piece - the same as an Australian 10 cent piece and similar to a dime in the USA. Use a bigger coin if you want rounder corners and of course feel free to cut into any shape - I just did a simple rectangle.

All the marking and cutting was performed on the smooth side of the rubber.

Velcro is extremely good at attaching itself to carpet fibres as shown in this photo. There is only about 60mm of the "hook" side of the Velcro in contact with the carpet, and yet it is strong enough to suspend the whole carpet in the air.

The Velcro hook is 50mm wide with a self adhesive backing.

Thoroughly clean the smooth side of the rubber with Mentholated sprits to remove any dirt or grease.

Peel off the backing and attach the Velcro. Press firmly on the Velcro for at least 25 seconds. This will give the best adhesion, being a contact glue.

Job done, and it can be moved or removed at any time, but it won't slip underfoot. Thanks Peter!!!

While at Toyota ordering TRD parts, I asked to get me price on new carpets.
Very surprised that Toyota do NOT sell the OEM carpets, they come with the car from factory.
I said WTF you charged me for the carpets, so how did you get that order?.??
Dealer principle here I come.....

Yep, I saw my car when it landed in GP and still had all the protective plastic, etc on - the mats were inside. They definitely come with the car from the factory.

They must give you a refund.

Exactly - it came with the car. Charging a customer for them is taking a massive chance.

Those rear ones are interesting. The only ones I have seen are small rectangles not wrap around the seat rail type. And, they are for RHD like we have.

What brand are they - got a link?
