That does sound like S**T. My vote is that the cam sprocket is FUBAR'd. Only a matter of time until you get a new engine in my opinion.

The sound on that video made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I would be so sad if my car did that.
I couldn't drive it like that, it would break my heart every time.

It might be as simple as the over-pipe hitting the cossmember when the engine rocks on its mounts. Possbly a bad engine mount. I'd want to hear the noise in person and track its source.

I agree. It sounds like something is hitting something else when the engine moves because of the revs.

I'd send that video to corporate and tell them their dealer sucks.

You should have received a free rental and the car should have been repaired.

How about exhaust pipe hitting driveline? They are very close. So many other possibilities. THey need to rev it on the ground and possibly on the hoist to locate the source. Perhaps look for codes.

Any good mechanic uses his ears to do a diagniosis. Perhaps since Toyota is on the hook to pay, the dealer is hesitant to start tearing things down. Tell the guy to get out the stethoscope.

Also, unfortunately at this point the Toyota guys just might not be the most knowledgable diagnosing a boxer.

You should be given a loaner!

I just call Toyota Canada and she can't do anything until the dealer have found what is going wrong with the car. I've talk to the dealer and he
said that the scion ingenieer is on the case and they can't touch the car
until he came back with an idea. Yeah sure, will wait another week!

I've asked another dealer to take the car monday morning but should i do it ?
