Audio upgrade with Image Audio Umhlanga

After having the 86 for 4 months, the stock sound just became a little boring, time came for a build. I visited Audio Image Umhlanga to look at my options, as I did not want to lose the spare or the tools in the trunk, further I still needed to have space for small luggage.

So this is what we came up with.

I went for the Toyota 86 touch screen, sat nav system from abroad to keep with the OEM look. Routed IPAD/IPod cable to the cubby.
System has all the features and more compared to Kenwood and Pioneer, however it is all down to preference.

equipment

Equipment I went for quality brand, Rockford Fosgate, Punch.
Fitted front tweeters, mids, 8" sub and 2 small PBR 300 amps. Opted for this route as the equipment is light, draws very little power from the battery.
So keeping the spare and tools in the truck, we built a box for the Sub into the spare wheel and fitted carpeted board across the boot. The amps are installed on a shelf behind the spare under the floor, out of the way.
In the event on having to put small bags or luggage in the truck, we made a cover that sits on the Sub, which could remain there covering the Sub.
My objective here was to keep this build in line with OEM look, but to add something to the 86 theme. Red LED strip fitted to give the red effect.
Image Audio did a fantastic job, without a single scratch.

This is the look with the cover over the Sub. Oh I fitted the 86 piston emblem into the carpet for show.

Looks very good. Where did you get the cover for the underneath of the boot? Cost? Hope the radio backlight is red so it matches the interior... Must say this really annoys me if I use the car at night. What where they thinking mixing red and green lighting?

I can't remember the last time I've seen fog in Gauteng anyway.
