Walking in to the Toyota dealership and me having to tell them about the 86 is not good.
We have to realize, 50 a month compared to over 1500 per month other models... So kind of don't blame them.
All we can do is get to know our own car in and out and ensure Toyota do what is required.
My opinion.

The salesman at Toyota proudly informed me that it has a "very advanced" McPherson strut suspension and that I don't need to worry about a rollover because the a-pillars are made out of corrugated iron
Luckily I knew better

For further interest, the 5w30 we have been given by Toyota is Caltex Chevron, so I am informed.

When changing your oil ask to fit the TRD oil filter, cost extra R200 odd, well worth it.

Cool,, I can't find any mention of 5W30 on Caltex's website though.

Also, I'm not sure why the owner's manual is only mentioning 0w20, here is a page from the official repair manual:

It's Red! And allegedly provides better/stronger filtration I believe.

Thanks, do we even get Chevron oil in SA? I know they're basically Caltex but still...

Either way, as long as Toyota's got the correct oil, I'm happy.
