Is there a big difference between Chumpcar and LeMons? Is one more seriously racing than the other? It seems like LeMons is more fun and games. Is that true?

I've always wanted to, but never have the time to... Seems like everytime it comes up I completely forget, and it passes already

LeMons IS much more about fun and games, wacky penalties, carnaval atmosphere, "The People's Curse" (where everyone votes halfway through the race and gets to destroy the "winner's" car, just because they can)... and you actually DO have to buy your car for $500....

ChumpCar is more "serious" racing, though "serious" only pertains to not having stupid penalties, and you can pay whatever for your base vehicle, you just have to "prove" that it IS possible to buy a running version of your base car with current examples ebay and craiglist ads. Everyone who competes in ChumpCar is VERY friendly, and will help you out in any way they can to keep you on track as long as possible, with tools and spare parts and general car knowledge. It's more "serious" than LeMons, but it isn't some hyper-competitive atmosphere. Everyone's there to have a good time and race cars, and at the end of the day, someone's turned the most laps, and they "win," but pretty much everyone who's still running at the end feels like a winner, and the whole paddock goes back to their trailers at the end of the race and cracks open a beer.

Well, wish us luck, you can follow the race tomorrow 8AM to 10 PM with live timing on Chumpcar.com

We ran flawlessly for 6 hours, then had a balance shaft sprocket shear on us... took us a while to get a spare, then went back out. After the sun went down, I had a puncture which sent me for a pretty wild slide through the esses, but I limped it back to the pits, where we put on some older tires. Later we had some axle bolts shear on us, which we also replaced. Finished 51st, though we ran as high as 29th, after starting one lap down... overall, had a really fun weekend. Road Atlanta is an incredible track!

<< Races in Chumpcar as well.

We were supposed to be at the Road Atlanta race this past weekend but one of our drivers had a medical situation so we bowed out. Heard there was some good racing though.

Dave have to post up your 2013 schedule when completed. We're still ironing ours out and will post once finalized.

We are up in the air a bit.. currently lacking a tow vehicle.

We are kinda planning to register and insure the race car and drive it to Watkins Glen and then Road America the next weekend in April

We will do Sebring for sure. We may do Road Atlanta, maybe VIR.

Uhhh, hand-raiser right here!

Edit: On second thought -- Watkins Glen is a serious haul.
