Exclamation took delivery after 209 days since ordered.

i used to drive 2003 civic sir(or si, EP3), i found that honda shifter is much nicer than the subaru's.
shifting feel for honda ep3 and subaru brz : 10 : 8

Before i go to the dealership and hear some bulls**t, I would like to know is it normal that my shifter in brz vibrates pretty hard in neutral.

As to shifting, you have to put some miles on it before it gets to "normal" smoothnes. Give it 500-1000miles and you'll like it.

About vibrating in neutral, havent noticed anything unusual.

lol to thinking any FWD honda transmission is better than an Aisin RWD transmission. The BRZ shifter vibrates because its attached DIRECTLY to the transmission, not to some vague POS shift cables/rods/actuators.

If you have never driven an s2000 I suggest trying that out first. Welcome to your first RWD car, please dont wreck it, leave traction control turned on.

lol....
yes this is my first RWD car and my first new car as well...
i am old enough to drive slowly....lol... traction control will be on for a year at least...
i only have 80 km on it right now, but i feel my back being pushed real hard compare to my civic SI while the green light is on(always below 3k rpm). not sure it is because 200hp (my civic has 160hp, similar torque as brz.) or the consequence of RWD.

Ah, excellent! Sorry I was a bit harsh, a knee-jerk reaction since so many new drivers have wrecked these poor cars.

Although, if you think the shifter vibration is excessive it wouldnt be a bad idea to consult another BRZ/FRS owner or maaaybe even ask the dealership to look at it.

EDIT: Also, if you find the full trac control too invasive, you can always have some fun with VSC in sport mode, it doesnt turn the traction/stability control all the way off. It allows some wheelspin/slip angle before intervening.

congratulations! can't believe you patiently waited so long to get the car, most would have canceled their order and got something else, or found an available car.

my shifter definitely vibrates, but I just make it a point to not rest my hand on it when I am not actually shifting.

Congrats!

Btw, IMO the shifting feels better in the BRZ/FRS but I still think the EP3 had the best shifting location. At least in any car i've driven.
