I think you may be over thinking this part a bit. If we were talking a whole intake manifold or something crazier, then this would be a concern. If anything our part has a smoother, larger air path to the throttle body, so its going to work better than the stock part to allow the pistons to suck air into the combustion chamber easier. This should make more HP in any setup.

We have dynoed this on a stock car and found almost no difference in HP, but on a Headerback car with an intake system it was worth about 4HP. This part really comes into play when bigger cams are installed and or higher redlines are had.

We will have some dyno results and pictures really soon!

Thanks. I think this design is exactly what I am looking for in an intake options. Improves airflow slightly, but maintains the stock important elements and locations, and increases engine compartment appearance while deleting sound generator. The price is very fair as well. I figure I'll throw in a high-flow filter and I'll be good to go.

Looking forward to when you guys have this available!

One thing that I don't see addressed(or maybe i'm just misinformed) on any of these intake duct replacement hoses is, does the hose flex under engine load/movement? The stock intake tube had an accordion for a reason. It needed to be able to flex/move under engine load so as not to move the intake box from it's fixed position. How does this replacement intake tube address that issue, or is it not really an issue at all?

Not an issue, it is flexible.

What he said! Silicone can bend so engine movement isn't going to be an issue.

Accordion is not always for flex many time it's their to prevent collapsing under vaccum. See other hose application than car and anything with outside hose pressure or inside vaccum has accordion. less material for same strength so cheaper to produce than a thick wall tube.

To be clear; we're talking about a vacuum cap that goes over the port the rubber hose connects to? That's what I got in my kit.

Correct, it would go over the little plastic elbow that TRD also sells as sound changers. I took mine out and have my power wire for my amp running through the grommet now.
