Yesterday I added a Zeta Non-Oiled Drop in Filter. The intake sounded better and the butt dyno noticed a bit more of an increased throttle response. Awaiting Perrin's product to see how that rounds out the system.

Just to bump this and get some more coverage. As another person stated this is FOR SALE NOW. I would suggest ordering it today so you can get the sale price which basically deletes the cost of shipping.

Give perrin a call and order one NOW while they still have this in stock. I have a feeling this is gonna be a hot item due to it being the precursor to the full intake kit.

Lol and I got a call back from chris after I put my order in this morning yey for good customer service.

Received it. Installed it. Really excellent design and quality. Happy with a bit more throttle response and growl. UniChip adds to it as well. :-)

Mate, I read this thread and although I love the Perrin products I think you along with few others are praising them like gods. Yes, they are making good quality products, no one is doubting that. BUT I would like you to ask yourself some logical questions:
"Perrin was trying to rip us off by charging more for the same part. " - How do you know they dont? since your next statement is "Nobody here but Perrin knows what they spend to make it". So basically, you base your statements on a belief/faith with no actual proof! Call me stupid or whatever but using your logic/and mine, considering that other reputable tuners sell the SAME part for 50-70 bucks cheaper, than (correct me if I am wrong) someone is taking advantage of the brand name aka "ripping us off". I understand your emotional attachment to the brand name/product but please understand that Perrin as any other tuners are businesses. They need to make a profit and please dont kid your self by thinking that "your pocket is more important than theirs". Yep, they might have higher overheads but why DO YOU or ME have to pay for that. Let them rethink their strategy/etc.

On the other hand, from a marketing perspective I think Perrin have done their job quite well. Think about it: mention on the forum that it might be somewhere around 200, than watch the feedback. If no one would've said anything, they very well would've charged 200 but now thanks to some posters (labeled as trolls) they will probably rethink their pricing strategy. Why? Because, depite the fact that they are very reputable here (and I admire the constant feedback and forum activity, something that more vendors should do) their product costs xyz amount to manufacture their product. It would cost them as much/more or less than other vendors/tuners that sell the same product. Sooner or later when all the dust settles and the hype of the 86 will wear off a bit, you will realise that "hang on, maybe I really paid a bit more for this product".
So please look at things as they are.

Hawk77Ft please show me the same part for 70 bucks cheaper. The Perrin at retail is fairly priced and there is not one on the market in the same design.

OK, not a huge fan of arguing over the internet because things/words migh gain different meaning, so at the initial price of 200 it was a difference of what, $85 so yeah I must admit I was wrong. Now that Perrin has released their price which is quite reasonable, let's not make of this more than it actually is.

PLease see below your own post! Yes,...I guess it is even better when you get it for free, right?

"I want one of these without the noise tube connection, Perrin has one coming out and the purple Zeta one i just don't understand why they cost so much. $150-200 for a tube when you can get a full intake for $300? I guess i will get the purple Zeta one for $115 there are not enough gains to be had here to spend much more than that in my opinion."

Let's not stupidly fight over the internet over something not worth your time or my time.

On a different note, I would be quite interested in getting this as (believe it or not) I like the Perrin products and their constant feedback. Whan I first saw the ARC metal intake tube I was sure someone will release something like it in silicone, so yeah...Perrin did it again!:happy0180: As for the other design, FA20 club is already making/selling a product with a panel filter placed in front of the radiator.

So, do you still have yours for sale?

It's already gone I have the fa20 intake on the way, free was awesome but I didn't ask for it that way. Perrin offered me a deal on their intake also but I didn't want to leave fa20 hanging as they have been very good to me also. Zeta is ok but it's the same shape as stock the Perrin has a little different design I think may work better or they wouldn't have changed it. I'm lucky to have good relationships with a few vendors and it just gets to me when people complain about the price in all of perrins threads, see the oil cooler one also.

Whichever you get any of them will be better than stock and good luck with your build!
