More baseless speculation doctored up as "truth" from inside sources...

And people keep falling for it.

Gotta love all those AWD BRZs out there... Oh and those 2 door 350hp WRX STIs that Subaru's been selling since 2008....

well at least toyota wont be doing somethign like this as they are planning on releasing a more expensive sports model (supra) and raising the cost of the 86 will conflict w/ the supra.. but idk just thinking out loud

It's not easy to take an absolutely gorgeous car and turn it into something that just doesn't flow at all. But this seems to have accomplished just that. Not digging it AT ALL.

20-30 extra horsepower plus heavier wheels/tires/brakes = WASH.

Ah finally. Lol. I was sitting here thinking "I can't be the only one to not like this...?"
I think it is ugly as sin...if this is what the 86/brz/frs looked like from factory, I would have kept on walking. It looks like a happy blowfish.
I'll stick with my black GTS in standard trim thanks...though I don't mind the TOM'S 86.

Guys,....relax,...this is a marketing ploy to see if it sparks any interest. Marketing is everything and they are testing the waters.... What may or may not be produced as a STI version could be this car or one that is very different....

I hope they are not forgetting this car was made to be a entry level sports car. If the price keeps going up, matter as well get a 330hp 370Z. Which is the same thing I told the salesman about the $3000 mark up crap they tried to pull.

I somehow feel this could be very true.

No kidding! The STI body kit alone cost over $2k! Look at that little rear bottom diffuser Subaru charge $800. I say a STI model will be $5k upward easy and $8k more likely. Just visit Japanparts.com and total all the STI goodies.

I'm in awe of how many people think this is real.

Sti springs = $500
Sti lip = $500
Sti Cat back = $1000

Whole Sti will only cost 3K more. Uhhh-huh.

Also, that photo has been photoshopped into a ton of different skins.

The thing about the intake is a bit cryptic, but the only place in the intake where gains can be had is the manifold. Currently it seems to be somewhat of a low end torque manifold. Shorten it a little and bring the power into the 3.5-4.5k range, where things start to get fun, rather than the 2.5-3k range, which no one gives a shit about, and I think it could be pretty good.

However I don't see that adding much hp in itself, maybe a little bit. If cams are changing, you can kiss goodbye to midrange torque.

I vote that the next person to post one of these scoop threads be unable to start a new thread for at least 6 months.

Unless of course it's true, but what are the chances of that?
