My front pipe is nicely dented and I'm only 1" drop.

I emailed John at Ultimate Racing and this was his response to me:

Hello Patrick,

For sure that area is going to be low with a 3" pipe, and it doesnt help when the design of the car's rear sub frame is so low already, also another problem we found on all the Subaru's rubber hanger it gets soft fast and the exhaust hangs lower even more, that is why companies sell those harder exhaust hanger for the Subarus, other way to fix it cheap is to put a hose clamp over it, this will keep it from hanging lower and lower.

We have 1 FRS and 1 BRZ, our FRS has the prototype 3.5" single exhaust on it and is about 1.25" lower than stock, and our BRZ have a regular dual exit catback and is 1.5-2" lower than stock, yes sometimes it touch the ground but there is really nothing we you can do because of the bigger pipe that the car need.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, thank you!

I'll try it out tonight, I have some extra hose clamps.. I'll take before and after pictures. I'm on stock suspension right now and waiting on my LCAs before I lower it. So I'll get pics up of it lowered when I'm done in about 2 weeks.

I measured it this morning, on stock wheels and stock suspension.. and from the lowest point of the pipe to the ground was 4 inches

Last night I went home and was able to twist the mid pipe a little to where i got another 3/4" clearance. so right now it's sitting at 4.75" of clearance on stock suspension and stock wheels. I ordered new hangers from Torque Solutions, hopefully (doubtful though) it'll raise it another 1/4" so it'll be a good 5" of clearance. I'm planning on putton 18x9.5s 265/35/18 tires with a 2" drop in the back so hopefully i'll still have a good 3" of clearance afterwards.

But this won't matter too much because I'm buying the Powerhouse Racing exhaust soon so I'll be selling this one.

I never have issues with rear clearance at 1" drop. The front pipe however is another story. Not sure why they made it go so low after the overpipe. There is room to bring it up some above it.

You can't see it in the pics, but my front pipe has a nice sized dent in it.

no scrapping issues in the rear the only scrapping part is the resonated mid pipe since its a 5 inch resonator. scrapping on most speed bumps

Would Ultimate Racing do a little custom modification for a customer? I'm planning on getting this exhaust in addition to borla uel headers, and because it will be used on the road i want to implement an Apexi EVC so that i can switch between 'because race car' and daily driver. So i believe i need about ½" shorter pipe somewhere in the system for a proper fitment :P
