First car: 97 318ti. 138hp, <2800lbs, good handling and 40 mpg hwy. many subarus after that, auto cross miatas and here I am with what I consider my dream car. I once dreamed of making my 2.5 RS rwd by pulling the front shafts, adding coil overs and turboing it.

Mustangs were my "first love" I guess, as soon as I turned 18 and could buy a car on my own I went out and bought one (that was 24 years ago). I've owned four of them over the years, and still have my '08 GT, although I wouldn't say owning Mustangs has led me to buy my BRZ.
I have also had several smaller, lightweight, good handling cars over the years, including: -1978 Datsun 280Z -1983 VW GTI -1990 Miata -1996 DOHC Neon -2001 ACR Neon -2005 Mini Cooper One of the cars that I've loved the most though, and was responsible in large part for my path to the BRZ was the '90 Miata that I've owned for the last 6 1/2 years. If I wouldn't have bought the BRZ I would have gotten an NC Miata instead (still probably will when the BRZ is paid off in a couple years)

First car was a '65 GTO, but after about a year I replaced it with a '64 Jaguar 3.8 E Type. Had that car for 18 years and did a ground up restoration on it. It sure was a blast to drive. Like the FRS, it was a very well balanced car that was easy to control in a drift. It had slight oversteer that could be controlled precisely with a bit of throttle. Sold it about 20 years ago, but never forgot how much fun it was to drive. Drove a ’69 Mustang and a ’72 TR6 while I was working on the Jag, but they really didn’t compare for driving thrills. Now that the kids are out and on their own, we have taken the plunge back into fun cars with a firestorm FRS. Just can't get enough time behind the wheel!

Now Muscle cars, I never had the chance to build one up for myself. I helped a friend build a '67 Chevelle but that was my exposer… I agree with enjoying a newer car for warranty… Enjoy your BRZ!

The BRZ is my first non-Honda. I've had the following:
1998 Honda civic EX 1997 Honda Civic CX 1993 Honda Civic EX 1992 Honda Civic SI 2006 Acura RSX Type S I'm still a huge Honda fan. I hope to add an NSX someday. |
