Beyond pissed about the McLaren livery, heard it might just be an interim though until they finalize a title sponsor. This should have been the livery

so many F1 cars being dropped this weekend!!

so glad they changed the regs on the noses, the cars look so much better. And if the video Merc AMG posted from their Silverstone testing is any indication, the cars sound wayyyy better too!

Yeah it was stated they don't want to drastically change the livery until they have a new title sponsor. Since the title sponsor will determine the colors they use.

Ya, and I'm not buying that Alonso had a concussion. That shouldn't take 2 days+ of observation. That's maybe overnight. Maybe if they were concerned about brain injury you hold him longer for observation.

Remember they aren't football players, they actually need their brains. Concussions can leave you drowsy and with headaches for weeks sometimes. Add to that the G forces of the car and I can see why he would miss testing.

I should have clarified. I actually used to do some work assessing brain injury, so I know the effects of concussion and that they can last a while. What I am saying is that usually an "observation" following a concussion is not for 2 days. Alonso out of testing, sure, but based on the length of observation I wonder if he had other injuries not publicized. The brain injury you see having far and long lasting consequences is more typically from repeated injuries, or more severe injuries. Severe is admittedly relative, it only takes falling 10 inches to inflict head injury of some type.

So the driver's can't change their helmet designs during the season and their reason is "so the spectators can identify the drivers easier". Really...?

I attended the USGP last year and can say their helmet is the absolute last resort as the cars are flying by at 180mph.
Correct me if I'm wrong but all the cars have numbers on them correct...? Williams makes it easy and puts the numbers on the side, but the number one way I was able to distinguish drivers of the same team was the T-bar on top of the air intake; one guy has black and one guy has neon yellow. I figured out by Practice 2 who's who.

I think this "rule" is just the FIA grasping for power...

Alonso out for Australia. It could very well be a concussion as they officially say, but the fact they're holding back information about his testing accident has everyone suspicious.

More likely it's to turn attention away from driver shenanigans and preserve the 'sport' while allowing the sponsors to take a bit more of the spotlight.

When the talk of the day is about the paintjob on the helmet and not the capabilities of team A vs. team B and driver X's history at this circuit and thanks TelephonoCorpoBuyNLarge! it's kind of a turnoff for the people interested in the sport...
