I didn't get that from the article......if they can prove to F1 that their numbers show they were within the parameters, what's F1 going to do next? They'll say that RB's instruments/gauges are wrong, then maybe RB says adios? F1 is run like a concentration camp and I'm surprised the series is still in existence. Ah well.........

RBR removed the FIA sensor from Daniels car entirely. So proving they were flowing fuel within the limit is somewhat irrelevant. They were not granted permission by the FIA to replace the FIA sensor (made by Gill Industries) with their own, which they did. They were also warned, multiple times, by the FIA to essentially "stop cheating" even during the race, which they of course ignored.
You can't just disregard the FIA because you "don't like something" which is what they did. All the other teams got on with it. RedBull is showing quite a bit of hubris in this one. I will be disappointed if they win the appeal because of the really awful precedent it will set. I also hope the FIA gets their shit together regarding the fuel flow sensor as well.

If the FIA lose the appeal they should take their bat and ball and tell F1 to stick it. RBR can't be allowed to self police, that's just ridiculous. They should have used the sensor, gathered the data and then gone to the FIA with both sets of data to help improve the situation.
In regards to the noise levels I'm not sure what they can do. The turbos will quieten things down by nature of their design and I'm not sure the cars are running any other form of muffler or resonator. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk |

As far as I can tell, there's just a tube, maybe a foot long, coming off the turbo and pointing backwards.
I think maybe a megaphone type of exhaust tube might make things a bit louder. |

My hope is Lotus stays glued together for quali after today's disastrous practice. I can't believe their results after last year, Kimi or not.

Or, maybe they take some playing cards held on with clothespins mounted so they hit the spokes on the wheels to make cool engine sounds like we used to do on our bicycles when I was a kid!
The sad part is you'd actually be able to hear it lol. |

Just finished watching qualifying. What a sloppy mess. Luckily only one car got wrecked in that monsoon.

Hamilton on Pole! Woot!
Can't wait for the race tonight. If the cars stay running it should be a great race. |

Missed Q3 due to red flags and DVR cutoff.
Tomorrow's wx forecast is the same as today's so add record time to your DVR just in case. http://www.wunderground.com/q/zmw:00000.1.48647 Interesting to see the cream rising to the top but also exciting to see Jan Magnussen showing potential. Button better get a good night's sleep, he'll need it to out race his teammate. And Vettel has a lot to prove. It should be a good test of the new cars. If you heard the Bernie E. interview during practice, he echoed what's been written here about weak sales and viewership due to the new regs. He's worried, no doubt. At least the rain should help reliability by keeping the track temp below the 122°F. They still sound like shite. Don't forget tomorrow's IndyCar race from St. Pete. It marks Montoya's return to the series and he will definitely add to the show even though he qualied in 18th >10 sec. off pole. |

I don't know. That race didn't do a whole lot for me except for the first 5 laps or so. Was very exciting seeing Ricciardo not give an inch early on. Apart from that things seemed a bit lacklustle. Hope things improve for Bahrain.
I was very surprised at how little affect the DRS seemed to have. Cars would have the flap open and still not be making much ground let alone an overtake. |
