So Lewis decided, while traveling in Japan, to rent an R34 and drive the piss out of it, make a video, and post it online.
Rental company found out, and now are apparently suing. I personally would've had Lewis sign my car, take a picture with it, frame it, and then sell the car as the value would've certainly gone up. I would've done this with just about any F1 driver out there, except for Stroll and Latifi because they both fckn suck. The whole thing might just be a huge PR stunt by the rental company, because certainly the demand for that R34 will go up with people knowing who drove it.

Maybe they're planning on doing both.

Vasseur officially replaces Binotto.
What really surprised me is Seidl going to Sauber.

For those that may be interested,,, Miami F1 just released 'Campus Tickets' for sale. A 3-day pass (no seat) $590. Such a deal.

I predict people will pay up.
And the organizers will keep squeezing that goose.

I would find that the 3 day option would be kind of redundant (as in boring…) Do they offer one day passes so you could get at least a feel for the layout for next time without the financial haemorrhage of being on site 3 days in a row? With parking, food, lodging & drinks it can add up quickly even for only a day. Another restriction that the Miami event has that would frustrate me is the No camera/size policy… (my camera has to follow me or I don’t go) My last years rant in June about the general admission viewing areas having reduced quality if any compared with past events for the Montreal race forced us to lookout for a deal for a cheap seating upgrade or not go at all. https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...postcount=3334 Around here one day tickets for any area can be found online. One such offer came up before Christmas and I was able to snatch 3 tickets for the Friday practice (our preferred and less hectic day) for 69$ CAN ( about 47$ US) seated@ at that price it rivalled or even cheaper than Gen Admin some years! Since I am still awake (I bruised a rib quite bad skiing a few days ago and any sleeping has become quite tiring…) So out of curiosity I checked out For Friday tickets for Miami and found some Friday SEATED tickets for 54$ CAN, on Race day that same grandstand go for 275$ CAN. When I convert that to US$ that is way cheaper than here! Time to do some shopping for other online ticket sites if you really wish to go... |

Thanks for that info. I would love to go for at least one day and Friday would probably be the best. Seat Geek had a couple for $36 so that's a good deal. Where did you find that info regarding cameras? Seems silly as everyone's phone has one built in.

Are you less that 90min away? That would make a nice day trip. For those Camera rules “compact & Consumer grade with interchangeable lenses are allowed.” Anything with a telephoto are not permitted… so defeating the reason for an interchangeable lens. Also Audio recording devices banned. You will not get photos such as this with your phone… ![]() MTL F1 2015. 1/350s w an 42 year old 300mm manual lens. ![]() I like to carry a Zoom recorder with me on my pit walks for when they do cold starts & such.. The full Miami Rule list: https://f1miamigp.com/the-circuit/faqs/ Times are changing and more restrictions are passed on as prices to events rise. We used t bring our beer supply with us race day but of last year it’s disallowed. They have cracked down on what you carry in as well here. Its been some time I was fortunate enough to be able to bring a camera to a concert around here. Which reminds me I need to examine the rules again this year for my June date… |

This is a bit confusing....
Point-and-shoot cameras and cameras with consumer-grade detachable lenses will be allowed in order for guests to take photos, provided that they are only for personal and private non-commercial purposes. However, monopods, tripods, selfie sticks, audio recording devices, video cameras and professional cameras (e.g., those with telephoto lenses) will not be permitted inside Miami International Autodrome. Cameras may be subject to additional screening. This is clearly a consumer grade camera,,, you think any chance they'd turn it away??

Yep!

Definitely the rule is ambiguous, as per WIKI a telephoto lens is anything over 85mm… I have been halted in the lobby of a concert club a dozen+ yrs ago by 3 security agents and escorted out because my camera was deemed PRO, it was just a D3100 with a fast 35mm lens on it. To the general public anything other than your phone is PRO hardware… Found this discussion about it, seems that COTA is much more relaxed for appliing the rules..: https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/co...camera_policy/ What you show would be a perfect light kit to record your surroundings such as car demo’s and the on site entertainment, is that the 18-140mm?. Be aware much of the fencing around the circuit will degrade picture quality and defeat the AF, a strong telephoto with a large aperture can mitigate the fencing & manually pre focusing on the middle of the track will bypass the AF issue. If you chance that your kit would pass would you still be close by to the parking if a return to your vehicle would be needed, seems they have a shuttle service for the parking areas, shuttles can be inefficient depending on the time.. They do seem to have a bag check for 20$ at certain entry gates but unclear if that is before or after the gates… When I go to The Circuit Mont Tremblant a few hrs north they have some rules but are very lax at checking or challenging what you bring or who you are. I have with me 2 DSLR’s and many lenses between 8mm & 500mm plus monopod - The parking is at the center of the circuit. When I go to the MTL F1 race I have 2 lenses (one short super wide zoom & one 200-500mm telephoto) on one DSLR & my phone and I feel naked! My bag was oversized last time but they never measured. Time to the parking from the F1 site is anywhere from 15 minutes to an hr... |
