amayama.com is still good to go though. I have a few parts on order from them at the moment and the part numbers still come up when you search for them.

i bet if the car came with black button, the same group of people that changed from silver to black, would want to change it from black to silver.

Some people just like to change things for the sake of changing thing with no added benefit.

Probably because they won't warranty a non-market specific item. Though it is technically OEM they will probably view it as an aftermarket upgrade.

And os it happens with so many cars. i had a Lexus IS200 before and US guys were dying to get the chrome headlights, while the ozzies were crazy for the black out headlight body...I guess it depends on people's preference!

I wonder you can use an aus vin? If not amayama can still help you out since it comes directly from Japan where they sell low grade models locally

Im a soon to be owner of an Australian spec 86. Manual trans. Mine is the "base" model GT so comes with black everything, and I want to replace with silver everything. I find it hilarious that some people find the black more appealing yet others think the silver is more appealing....lol.

Anyway, Nikko can you please tell me the part numbers for the following bits in Silver:
1) gearshift surround
2) buttons (is it possible to fit the buttons for AT into MT?)
3) kneepad trim (this the ones on either side of the aircond dials yes?)
4) aircond ring bezels

I'd also like the radio surround and dashboard piece from the GTS model...the one which already has the "weave" pattern on it as opposed to the plain looking one's from the GT spec.

Not a bad idea actually....I wouldn't mind that at all. But I think those with the silver trims might want to keep their factory parts for when they sell their car in future.

I'd be up for trading. Only thing we couldn't trade would be the radio trim and piece next to it because of the LHD/RHD difference.
