I would settle for nothing less than a new car. And yes, they can have my old one.

As do I, but if it's a recall or tsb issue you are at the mercy of a tech you know nothing about.

I don't think you're overreacting at all. But keep everything in perspective. You can talk to the Service Manager and tell him your story (and even show him the video). Maybe the technician will be reprimanded, but who knows for sure.

As for a lawsuit, don't bother wasting your time. You have no damages, so you'd be unlikely to recover anything at all. The only way you could even claim damages is if you said that the way the car was driven could have potentially shortened the life of the car. But proving that or somehow putting a value on that will be virtually impossible.

If I were you, I'd definitely talk to the Service Manager and make sure he fully understands my disappointment in the way my car was handled. If he doesn't respond in a way that is acceptable to you, then talk to the General Manager of the dealership. If you need to go further up the chain of command, you can ask to talk to the owner. And you can always report the dealership to Toyota.

OP, DON'T POST INFORMATION TO THE INTERNET JUST YET. FIND OUT WHAT COMPENSATION YOU CAN GET FIRST.

If it's not to his liking or they lag in terms of him getting his compensation then go ahead and tell the information.

If you can't show or prove any damage the best you can ask for is a fluid change (tranny oil and diff) and perhaps tires if you can hear them chirping in the video.

too bad the car doesn't have more power, then you definitely could have gotten new tires

in other words, your chances of getting anything worthwhile is slim to none. post the video and allow the community to exact revenge

I'm not saying that you're lying, but I've seen this exact same issue with a local autoshop and the guy posted the video complaining about the same thing (and he had every right to!). However, when he posted the video it was quite clear that it was being driven somewhat hard but nothing unusual for a mechanic and the cabin noise was definitely amplified by the dashcam making it seem like it was being driven harder than it was. Make sure you're not being too critical before you go down there!

Personally, I'd skip the dealer and go straight to Scion. A free oil change isn't going to do anything a little way down the road when your car has problems due to abuse during the break-in period.

As for the mileage on the vehicle being 7 or 3 or even 10 miles extra, it depends on the repair. Example when the first FRS with the CEL came in and we performed the repairs necessary and put 15 miles on it to ensure the light did not return. Monitors have to be reset and there is nothing worse than delivering a vehicle and having the light come on and getting a recheck. As for the redline driving, that may be uncalled for, either way your vehicle your rules.

Fyi I am not at the dealer he is refering to nor will I say because Hachiroku will ban me

Sounds like a joy ride to me. Every time i read of cases like this in forums owners get compensation for this abuse. Maybe you will not get a new car but at least a free extended warranty for your peace of mind if you want to keep the car or refund if not. (Last case i know the dealer took the car back (1M) and put it back for sale used with a big extra premium)

Not sure about going viral but scion needs to know what kind of service dealers are giving. Not easy to go through that but it might be worth it. Good luck regardless of your decision .

Either that or make sure you speak to the tech personally with your 'home defense unit' (mine's a vintage Johnny Bench model Louisville Slugger) in clear sight, maybe polishing it as you speak to him about how his parents should have chosen more wisely before giving birth to such a poor example of a human and how they may have taken more time teaching him to treat others belongings with respect. Then ask him where his car is.

Above a few posts, the suggestion is to not post the video. Although I am not incredibly interested in watching someones car get assaulted, how would sharing this information 'hurt' someone's case. Would they get butt-hurt at the fact they were called out e-style, about their shady service practices and poor hiring practices?

At least share the dealership and the tech so that we can exercise proper negative peer pressure and avoidance techniques that such a dealership deserves.
