As seen in the pics below, there is a side by side comparison from stock lamp to the Colin

Those red smoked ones look fantastic... Or if you took the clear ones and painted the whole lens candy red.

Sorry to say man, but that output looks god awful. Comparisons between stock turn signals and brakes aren't even remotely close. Sure the night picture makes them look bright, but it also makes the license plate illuminators look blinding. Someone is playing tricks with exposure. Brake lights need to be significantly brighter than the damn license plate lights. I think you'd be very disappointed with the brightness.

Not only that but considering our tail lights are the only rear reflectors, I highly doubt those aftermarket lights provide that function.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one seeing the light output as a problem...as someone who does not want to get rear-ended, either in my car or in life, I'll keep waiting for a better alternative.

Anything is better than what I have now. lol I think they look nice though... I'll make a video when I get my starfishes to get a better idea of what they look like.
