Without DI
BMW M3 NA V8 4.000 cc 420 PS @ 8.300 RPM 400 Nm @ 3.900 RPM 105 PS/l 12.0:1 263 g CO2/km (DCT) Lexus LFA NA V10 4.805 cc 560 PS @ 8.700 RPM 480 Nm @ 7.000 RPM 117 PS/l 12.0:1 379 g CO2/km With DI Ferrari FF NA V12 6.260 cc 660 PS @ 8.000 RPM 680 Nm @ 6.000 RPM 105 PS/l 12.3:1 360 g CO2/km Ferrari 458 Italia NA V8 4.500 cc 570 PS @ 9.000 RPM 540 Nm @ 6.000 RPM 127 PS/l 12.5:1 307 g CO2/km Porsche 911 Carrera S NA H6 3.800 cc 400 PS @ 7.400 RPM 440 Nm @ 5.600 RPM 105 PS/l 12.5:1 205 g CO2/km (PDK) Subaru BRZ / Toyota GT86 NA H4 2.000 cc 200 PS @ 7.000 RPM 205 Nm @ 6.600 RPM 100 PS/l 12.5:1 1xx g CO2/km There is nothing to say about the FA20. It is an engine as good as any of the other high peformance NA engine. Without DI Subaru woud never have been able to get such spec nor to build a NA engine. It would have the be FI. For my Alfa I paid 500 € pollution taxes because it produces 198 g CO2/km. A more than two times more powerful Porsche produces slightly more. Ferrari and Porsche would never achieve such specs with so "low" emissions without DI. Toyota's D4-S DI system gives roughly 14% power increase. If the LFA had D4-S as the GT86, it would be making roughly 630 PS, 131 PS/l. Toyota didn't use DI for the LFA, because F1 also doesn't use DI. The FA20 is the one of the last NA engines. FUTURE = FI + DI
