You're saying two different things here. How do you know the spy shot FT86s are UK spec? If they're not, how do you know the 86 logos are red herrings?

Let me start again and make it clearer as perhaps you've just misunderstood me.

What i have been told (by a UK Source) is that the Toyota will be badged up as Celica and that the 86 logos will be dropped. No 86 logo on the steering wheel and no 86 logos near the mirrors. The Scion will still be named the FR-S.

Thats all

The source is very good in my opinion, but im just the messenger - so dont shoot me if it doesnt happen

The "86" might be a JDM thing with US being FRS and the rest of the world being Celica.

A little like the Mazda Roadter/Miata/MX5 perhaps??!!

But with it being the Celica, why would Toyota registered the 86 trademark around the world??

"thunder" only work well alongside "lightning"

the trueno and levin went hand and hand, and since there is no visual model variation I doubt they would use one without the other.

I guess everybody seems to think the only ae86 was a hatch panda trueno from initial D

also the levin and trueno continued withe ae91, ae101 and finally the ae111 up to the late 90s all were FWD as the 86 was the last rwd Levin/Trueno.

It would be cool to rekindle the rekindle the line as this car is much like a modern version of the old, but once again how would they choose which name of the 2. ae86 Levins actually sold better in Japan in the 80s
