Maybe it's no sleeper drag car, but the one I drove made it's ~60 ft-lb advantage over my FRS readily apparent even with an AT and it being in awful condition.

~20 mpg is livable imo, and I want to get one on track for about $7k for a laugh, seems like a bargain to me. I know I won't be setting any records or even chasing down 86's but seems like a little sleeper to me with awesome suspension, bulletproof drivetrain and interior that's still a step or two or three up from my FRS.

Nice - if I needed to switch to a 4-door sedan that'd double as a RWD track car, I'd consider the IS300, along with an E36 M3 sedan. Both seem to be great deals in the used market and should be quite fun on the track. And then you can haul your family around in late 90s luxury (i.e. still better than the Twins interior lol)

Because its beautiful! Most people who are not spoiled by a twin will see the IsF and any vehicle as better than ours.

Turbo+bov is250 for fun sounds amazing! Instead im saving for a s2k then ill turbo or sc it.

I'm choosing gas for a while, so no head aches!

Good on ya man.

It should go without saying that the 2.0T is a boon over the lazy 2.5. I test drove an NX200T back around March and thought it was a solid performer - good linear power to redline. More than adequate for a 4,000 lb cute-ute getting 22/27 mpg. Should feel competitive with 500 lbs less to carry around. Although bit of a head scratcher that it gets the same city mileage 22/33 Interesting that Lexus doesn't wanna fight at the entry power level ala A4 1.8T, 320i, TLX 2.4, ATS 2.5.

Gunnning straight for the C300? That's a bold strategy Cotton.

The FR-S handling and WRX TQ really killed the IS for me. Drove the IS350 and 200t. Both handle better than WRX and have better sensory feedback...but the TQ/weight....I am depress banana.

Really wanted to go Lexus, but might need to go 335i.

Thats a lot of miles...Wonder how well they hold up past the 80K mark.

I'd be a little weary, especially since warranty is out of the picture.

My friend has a 2014 IS350 Fsport. While nice, hey it is a LEXUS, its noticeably underpowered and overpriced IMO.

anyone look at the new Lexus IS 200t

Rear drive with a new turbo engine. Just wondering if anyone test drove one how it compared to the twins.

Of note, I searched over at the IS forum and could not find any postings of serious issues with the 3rd gen IS, which has been out for a few years now.

No engine failure posts that I could see. They even don't have a section for "issues" like we have here. Guess not need.
