Personally I'm not looking for crazy horsepower numbers... would have bought another STi if that was my goal. I respect the effort, but huge horsepower was never my vision for this car, so a "mild" Vortech kit is way more appealing to me than a 400hp *insert flavor* kit.

Those supercharger numbers are whp. so if you do a guestimate calculations after whp stock. The kit should gain you roughly 150whp. add that to the stock 158ish whp of the FRS/BRZ and you would get about just over 300whp or maybe more or less. Either way, im happy with the results and cannot wait!

I doubt that a supercharger will get this car anywhere near 300WHP. That's Turbo territory.
I'd be perfectly happy with a super charger kit that put this car somewhere in the 225-240WHP range, which I think is a realistic expectation.

I'm trying to picture what the install kit would consist of. Presumably there is a belt-driven blower (or maybe electric?) and a pully/belt mod if its mechanical. Then the add-on ECU? It doesn't sound too invasive unless there is more.

The big advantage of super over turbo for people in Cali is you don't have to mod the exhaust. While you'll surely fail visual inspection you can find places that will still pass you if you pass sniffer, which you could with a supercharger.
Still, get refereed and you're fucked.

Just confirmed none of the vortech cars are tuned in any way, sorry guys no dyno numbers from SEMA but maybe Perrin will have them soon

its not always about peak power, although it sure does make it easier when it comes to marketing...
each driver has their own unique style, preference, needs, and wants when it come to performance upgrade and i'm glad that Vortech will provide our community with another option |

You aren't going to see dyno numbers from Vortech, not at SEMA at least. They are going to do R&D following SEMA, in which they will be doing tuning to get a base map like AVO has done with their turbo kit.

all I would want would be an extra 40 maybe 50 ponies. With no mods to the internals. Anything more than that would be gravy. In real world driving, the sc seems way better.
