Thanks.

I must be honest, the warranty thing would make me nervous because saying it's okay is one thing but when push comes to shove they could be singing a different tune.

There is always the VW Golf case though (I just can't find it online) but that set the president when it comes to these things I reckon.

@Gp1666...regarding the warranty...ZakD (on this forum from Toyota) says any mods besides toyota approved will void warranty...so if you dont have a "contact" in toyota to overlook the exhaust to cya get it in writing from Toyota that mods will void warranty on that specific component and not the entire warranty.

The above statement could be useless if you are not worried about warranty entirely.

Thing is, even if you do have contacts the car could still break down while you're on holiday ten you're pretty much screwed. Only way would be to get it on paper.

Another good idea might be to get the zorst and intake fitted by the dealer.

This warranty issue has been bugging me since I put on coilovers, so I made a 2 phone calls now:

First Call.... Service Department at a Dealership....explained different scenarios to them but they flatly said any non toyota approved mods will void entire warranty whether fitted by them or not.

Second Call...TSA call center...spoke to a helpfull person explained different scenarios and they basically agreed that if the modified component has no connection to a warranty claim component...warranty will cover after investigation reveals no connection.

I asked for this in writing but she said its in the Warranty manual.

I agree - rather be safe then sorry. Those Imbosiles at GM gave me issues with my OPC when the AFM broke and blamed it on my down pipe- " emissions have been modified" or something to that affect.

Thanks. Sounds like a risk and I guess it comes down to how much noise you're willing to make if there is a dispute.
