In my opinion handling gets boring considering the fact that I rarely see twisty roads in the parts of Georgia where I live. I would've to go seek them out to enjoy handling. The majority of driving isn't on twisty roads so I don't get how "power gets boring".

I guess I don't enjoy randomly flooring the car? I don't rev my cars or beat on them driving around town. There's really not much tactile feedback from flooring a car. A real drivers car provides tons of feedback to the driver, regardless of what's going on. Power never becomes a focal point. I've driven lots of fast cars and after a few times flooring them I get over the novelty of power and concentrate on the rest of the car.

Different people like different things, but if you are someone that wants a lot of power I'm pretty sure this car has been a waste of your time since day 1

Randomly flooring a car?

How about passing punch? Driving up hills? 3-4(6-700 lbs) occupants inside the car or toting heavy luggage? It plays a big part in everyday usability that half the people on this forum understands.

lol go buy a mustang then. this isn't a drag car. otherwise Toyota would of turbocharged it from factory if 1/4 mi times were such a big deal to them. Its designed to go up against the likes of a miata

I pass people everyday with no issues in cars with very little torque and without downshifting.

This car is tiny, people (adults at least) will NOT enjoy the back seat. No one rides in in the back of my cars because the back seats are a joke, just like they will be in the FT (according to the first drives, the FT sounds ever worse!). I tote 100lbs+ of amps, wiring and an 8" sub in the back of my car every day, and travel to track events across the country with 500+ lbs loaded in the car. I get by just fine with <200hp.

I like it when every idiot assumes that when you say those things you want a muscle car. I never said I wanted a turbo.

Oh yeah? Well I like it when every idiot assumes that "drivers cars" means powerless wonders. Last time I checked my RX7 from the factory was one hell of a drivers car... and guess what it came with from the factory.

Give up? Two turbos! and 13.9 quarter mile times. (I had her doing 12.9's with a catback exhaust and a PowerFC).

Just because I want a little more power out of the car than you (not you SUB-FT86) seem to want, doesn't mean I don't also want to enjoy the handling aspects of the car. I want both, call me greedy. :happy0180:

Before the rage replies come in, I'm not saying I want it to run 13's from the factory, but some higher expectations than hanging with a Miata would be acceptable.

I'm not really against power, it's just not a requirement and not something that I want more of in most cases. I'd want more than a CRZ provides :P but anything in the ITR power to weight range is plenty for me.

I don't cry for more power because it's not important to me and it's NOT a key factor for a drivers car. Some drivers cars have lots of power, way more than a FD with cooling issues even Just because it's not required for me doesn't mean it doesn't exist. However, like the FD, you can't get it (it=a drivers car with 300hp) for 23-25k either (new I mean).

Just messing on the FD. I love them, always have.

If I were to buy an FD at this point I'd want one with a blown up 13BREW so I could drop a better motor in (time to run and hide from the guy who hates motor swaps ) - figured it was time to go more off topic lol

I think Edmund's is pricing this car too high. I am still hoping for a $22k msrp (the sweet spot) and a low curb weight.

If Toyota wanted to offer a factory turbo/supercharger option with toyota reliability, warranty, and a 50% increase in power then I could justify $28-30k.
Otherwise, I think 25k is a grey area that overlaps with the price points of many good cars.
