OP: Did you impact on the strut top nut?
This post is irrelevant as my comment was directed to incorrect installation of the springs(doesn't matter which brand or spring) by over using an impact on that top nut.

But anyways just to stroke your ego(OP has been edited)... http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ghlight=eibach

lol

Yep, cause that's what I'm here for, my ego.

If you read that thread you'll see that Eibach (and myself somewhat) pointed out that the sportlines weren't even on sale yet. Those were Prokit springs, the very ones I mentioned in my post.

My point was that this isn't related to the Sportline springs like your post made it sound.

Clunking, missing bumpstops and leaking struts? I'd suggest getting the Eibach bumpstops and taking a part the suspension to inspect everything. Also, take a look at this link that was already quoted above.

We found out the hard way that if you zap off the factory top nut with an impact gun that you can actually spin the shaft internally causing it to click. If you spin the shaft too far this will cause the shaft to come disassembled internally and could, over time, cause the shock to leak. There is a special tool that needs to be used to lock the shaft from spinning when assembling and disassembling the front suspension.

If the special tool was not used and something else was used to hold the shaft, this could cause scoring on the shaft that could damage the internal seals, thus causing the damper to leak.

Has your friend called Eibach directly so our techs can help diagnose what is going?
