With all due respect, Dave, the reports from Lexus owners is that it is an issue. That's why were having this discussion.

Mine shall remain mostly stock, maybe rims, exhaust and some minor body modifications, but other than that I like to keep my cars fairly close to original spec. Rather not draw too much attention from the police around here. Also don't have the money for heavy modifications.

Gawd I have no life. I just sat here and read 8 pages of mod ideas. I plan on rebadging mine to look like a Toyota FT-86 (Yeah I know rebadging is lame) and that is all for now. If the stock suspension really sucks I will swap it out for something a little better, and maybe swap out the exhaust... But I think I want this car to be quieter than the JDM HKS on my Yaris. Honestly though if this car lives up to it's hype, I don't expect I would have to do anything to it at all.

That's the "unless it causes issues in this motor" part

I haven't read what Lexus owners have complained about.

i will most likely play "wait and see".
but eventually will get coilovers, either 17 or 18 inch wheels with VERY aggresive offsets. (had an s14 with 18x9.5 -9 and 18x10.5 +12)
fender roll (slight pull if required?) for above.
intake, exhaust (maybe stock with QTP after cat?)
suspension goodies galore. maybe a seat depending on how well the stocks hug me. harness bar?
and if the stock one is not up to par, probably a 2-way LSD.
power will be added depending on parts availability and funding. nothing crazy... unless i go for my dream of cams/ITB's on that boxer...

IS250 guys are having really bad carbon issues. IS350 guys not so much..maybe a select few people actually see carbon choking performance. IS-F members maybe 1% of owners see DI carbon issues.

D4-S definitely does solve early carbon buildup, but doesn't eliminate it completely. I doubt many of us who does own the FRS/BRZ will see early carbon buildup from DI.

Right, I have that kind of problem since I got the car( 2nd owner). Performance of the car is definitely degraded. I notice that after every oil change, my car becomes silky smooth, but it lasts only a few hundreds miles.

I don't know about you guys... but this Hellaflush stuff seems so dumb. Same with ridiculously slammed cars.

X2! It's extremely stupid if it makes the car less functional

I have never tried Seafoam, but I looked at a bottle of it today at Pep Boys.

Have you tried it, or any other such treatment?

N.B. I have never heard of a manufacturer who recommended the use of additives. For example, Honda specifically says not to use them. I never use them because, both in theory and in practice, they concern me.

seafoam is fantastic stuff, iv used it on plenty of hondas and they are still going strong and performing much better without the years of buildup.

unfortunately for Dark though, seafoam doesnt give the best cleaning power as port injection cars have which also cleans the intake track. With no fuel coming from the intake in the IS250 he can only get a combustion chamber clean. The valves will still get gunked up and deteriorate his performance.
