Well I'm hoping Cobb does an access port for the car's. So when I finally get to buy either the FR-S or the BRZ (which ever one looks better to me)

It would then go something like,

Headers,Exhaust,Intake Mani, Intake, Heads, Pulleys, Throttle Body and a Tune, and some sway bars.

Cobb would do a Access Port if Toyota wasn't a jackass and locked the ECU like they normally do on their vehicles. And im sure Subaru cannot deviate to much from that design either with Yamaha at the helm of some of the engine tech. We can only pray that the ECU is flashable.

Yeah I seem to remember someone somewhere saying that you'll basically be able to do whatever you like to improve it... If thats true then we could be in for an amazing scene once the modifiers start going crazy!

the ECU is the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT part of the car that we need more info on. hp? weight? meh. those 2 can be changed. ECU tuning or the lack thereof? it will stagnate any and all tuning of this platform.

i for one will not buy this car unless its confirmed to have an unencrypted ecu. there would be no point imo unless you're happy with the stock performance, which for most of us here isnt enough...

the good news? the car will be made by subaru, so maybe they will use a "subaru style" unencrypted denso ecu.

the bad news? the only other D-4S car i know of is the IS350 and that car uses an encrypted ecu.

on the IS350? i believe TOMS can reprogram the JDM ECU but not on the USDM ecu, probably cuz they didnt even try... but this is irrelevant because its not like your local tuner can do the same. TOMS is... well... TOMS.
