Yes, letting them understand the trickling effect for the successful GB is unimaginable.

We just have to lay it out realistically so they can see the point.

For the first 2 years, the BRZ will be a head turner. When people ask us about this car, we will talk about the wonderful experience that we had with Subaru PH. This will then bring more people to Subaru PH because they know Subaru of PH have a team of professionals who is willing to work with the customer.

We will post our good experience online via more than one channel. This will draw more positive local and international attention to Subaru PH. which also brings more people to Subaru PH when they are considering for a new car.

We will be the pioneer where future BRZ buyers will look to for advice and directions. So getting us the positive experience will set the foundation for future BRZ sales success. we will point future buyers to Subaru of PH only if we have a postive experience, of course, the vice versa can happen.

So relatively speaking, this is a very small investment to make upfront that can result in an unfar advantage to the rest of Subaru dears in LA for the years to come for BRZ sales.

I like where you're going with this. I'll give Frank a call as well either by the end of this week, or very early next week. Just to get one of those "would be great if we pushed through with this GB" calls in.

here is another incentive for the dealers.

when the demand for BRZ goes down in the future, every dealers in southland will be able to offer BRZ at a low price. the stock pile for every dealer will be high, and the differentiation between dealers to dealers will be none existence in the eyes of the customer.

At that moment, what will set Subaru of PH apart from the rest of the dealers? The answer is their reputation amongst the customers. so what it boils down to is what they do today will influence their reputation in the years to come.

because we are the advocates group. we are the group that will speak the loudest and spread the message which can shape or break a reputation. We are the ones who will get the message out there to the masses and people will follow.

I definitely agree. It could very well be the rep or source of information Frank got his info from is wrong, but this is a chance for more than just profit on a couple of cars - it's a chance to make a decent number of enthusiasts happy and have them advertise not only the car, but the dealer through word of mouth (which is one of the most effective forms of advertising). Pissing off such a group just does not make good business sense.

Even IF most every dealership got two cars (and I doubt for a year, I could see every month), I really doubt every single one is going to sell them right off the bat. It would make logical sense to put these cars where they know they are going to sell. Even if you didn't make as much profit on each car, the future business you'd get from it would more than make up for it. Well, there could be all kinds of stuff going on behind the scenes (as typically does in the corporate world), so I'll keep flame of hope alive inside me and just not get any dreams too big until there is 100% confirmation. Considering we still don't even have the price yet, it seems like any information is sketchy right now.

I could go for a WRX or STi and be pretty happy, but let's face it, I'd be missing the fun of the handling that the BRZ offers.

Pretty disappointed that the GB didn't go through like we hoped it would but I can't help but feel like Frank is pretty much lying and just dropping it with all the calls, emails, and deposits he had received. This is just my opinion as I have never talked to him myself, but he had never replied to my emails, and seems to ALWAYS be away/busy when I did try to contact him.

Calling Frank probably won't help. Subaru isn't responsible for him being a d-bag, he is. This whole blow up is his own fault for over promising and then when he realized his mistake and woke up he made the worst decision possible - he lied. If he would have been honest about it, and just reduced the GB to a level they would accept (ie, some GB sales, and sell the others to walk-ins) then it would have sucked but nobody would be against him. Lying made it worse.

I know if I lived over there I would boycott their dealership (and any others in their chain) for good.

got my sti in late-2006 from renick and it was a great experience, so i plan to go with them again if possible... the only reason i was considering ph was due to this gb [obviously]... but now that it's been shot down, there is no reason for me to travel any further than i need to...
