Our seats really aren't that sporty. I've had Recaro SR3s in my previous Supra, and those felt like they held you in much better than what's in the 86. I'd love to put a set of Recaro SR7s in the 86 one day. I love the feeling of sitting in a sports/bucket recliner seat in a daily car. They're very comfortable.

I think the seats are a perfect compromise. Could they be better? Sure who wouldn't want better. I think they had to skimp on the seat foam as most car manufacturers do. Some good 1" medium density memory foam worked into the right spots for the portion you sit on and near lower back - or add lumbar adjustment would help give more flexibility for more body types.

It's hard to make 1 seat type for everyone. If you can get an upholster to tweak it then pick the surfaces material you like with color and stitching but definitely get the memory foam and maybe a lumbar bladder then you will love your seats again.

I love Webber's comments on the GT2 RS in that video. "It's a bit naughty..."

I'm a bigger guy, 5'10" 240lbs and I'm perfectly comfortable in these seats. You might want to just adjust how you are sitting in them.

Yeah, I thought the seats were perfect. Obviously haven't had a lot of seat-time, but I've been in WAY worse.

I guess I don't understand the point of this thread...if you want a comfortable car to drive around, you shouldn't be looking at a sports car in general. The suspension is going to be stiffer, the cabin is going to be louder and more spartan, and the seats are going to be less comfortable...at least at this price point. If you want a near-perfect blend of comfort and sport, look at a CTS-V or M3...although be prepared to spend $70k. Even then the suspension is stiffer and the road noise is louder than a normal Cadillac. Finding that balance requires a lot more money.

Also keep in mind that the Recaro sport seats in the CTS-V are a $3400 OPTION. So, I'd rather have Toyota/Subaru pick "sporty" over "comfy" if they had to choose one to keep the price down.

You could be driving around in an Elise:

Another thing to keep in mind is that racers drive cars, for their profession, drive cars faster and harder than you can anywhere on the streets. So, why would they drive around another race car on the roads, when they couldn't get nearly the kind of joy out of it as they can just doing their normal job? It'd make sense for a racer to drive a normal car because they don't need to have that thrill/excitement on their off-days. They go through so much already for testing, practicing, qualifying, and racing that a normal car is fine for them on their days off.

On the other hand, most normal people like us have no outlet other than our daily commute and weekend track-days. That's where we get our enjoyment...so to feel like you're in a sporty car that keeps you planted in your seat as you wind around tight corners...that's where we get OUR thrill.

I'll finish on this...the first thing that REALLY drew me to the FR-S when I was looking at it were the seats. I knew I liked the styling of the car and read the good reviews, but it wasn't until I sat in that drivers seat that I actually knew I wanted one.

and Danica sounds like a tool because she IS a tool. Most over-rated person in the professional automobile racing world.

Are you obese, sir? You could replace the factory seats with a pair of Corbeau recliners for less than it would cost to reupholster the stock ones, I bet:

Check out the Sport and GTSII, they look like the most daily-driver friendly...
