I have the TRD body kit with the stock exhausts. I think it looks good... but.... im not 100% happy. The tail pipe does not fill up the entire gap that should be filled by the quad pipes.... So i am thinking about getting the TRD exhaust.... Is there any way around spending R15000 to make the back-end look 100%???

From what I've heard and read it's TRD or nothing unless you don't mind losing your warranty.

Yea Sav that's what I've heard as well... And I got screwed over with my last car's warranty, so I'm reluctant to do anything but the TRD at this stage...

A cheaper option to get the 4 pipe TRD look is to cut the tail pieces and weld on a twin pipe setup ... that should not affect warranty.

When I was looking at the TRD kit with stock exhaust I looked at twin tips welded to each side to fill the TRD rear bumper. Toyota North Shore here found some that looked almost the same as the TRD tips that would fit. PM me if you want the link.

BTW from looking at the exhaust diagram you don't need to cut at all. The single tips are bolted on with a single bolt. You may be able to use the same bolt hole to bolt on the twin tips.

Where can one buy some of the quad exhaust tips,i dont like the single tip,as said before,it does not fill the gap of the TRD body kit.

Friday I decided to go to Toyota and find out the price for the TRD exhaust and the muffler garnish (i already have the body kit)........ Holy #$%@ the exhaust is R19 900 and the muffler garnish R2100, and on top of that there was a fitment charge which they werent willing to give me.....

Seriously? Who would want to spend 24K or 26K for a new exhaust system that is really nothing special... When I bought my 86 the exhaust and garnish was R15k, and that was abit pricey...

Anyways, rant over lol

Lol sure they are .... Unless there is a discount if its part of your initial order for a new 86, I can't see the point...

Yea inflation is a bastard... At +- R15K I was quoted last year I was still contemplating purchasing the system, but unless they drop the price again I don't think I'm going that route...
