Mike Vu is a good friend of mine and an extremely talented individual. I have had the pleasure of working with him on many projects and his attention to detail is second to none. He also works very closely with 5AD on many of their projects so I'm sure they are both ironing out the details and making sure the kit is 100% perfect before releasing to the public. I was talking to him before SEMA and he mentioned a BRZ front lip that they were working on and that would come out shortly after the full FR-S lip kit.

I will give him a call today and see if I can get some info for you guys...I know you're all anxious. I'll post back here after we talk with any updates he may have on release dates and available quantities.

OK guys...I talked to Mike this morning and he caught me up to speed on the kit.

First, I want all of you to understand that MV Designs is a small operation. Just a few REALLY talented guys that build some sick cars and nice parts. He doesn't have the man power to keep up with the huge shops out there but the quality is top notch and the design is always fresh and clean.

The FR-S kit is coming real soon...they have been trying out different materials so they have something that is light weight and durable and easy to install. The molds are all complete and its just a matter of producing the parts in quantities to meet the demand. After talking with him, I expect the FR-S kit to be available in a month or so...

MV Designs is producing front lips, side skirts, rear spats, a rear diffuser, and a spoiler. About 30-45 days after the release of the FR-S kits the BRZ kit will be available. Its the same kit but a different lip. The design will be very close to the FR-S lip as the overall style is the same.

There are many companies that think by being the first to market that they are the best and will have the most sales. This usually involves parts that aren't 100% perfect or fitment issues or revisions down the line. MV Designs isn't one of those companies. They take their time, do lots of testing and R&D, install a few, have some people that aren't car guys install a few, see if there are issues, improve design, adjust the mounting methods, etc...this way they know that the parts fit perfect and the end user can install them easily.

If you guys have any questions, ask away. I'll answer what I can on behalf of MV Designs and if I don't have the answer I can get it for you.

Hope this helps...hang tight guys!!

Chad

I haven't checked in on this thread in a while. Sorry.

Any kind of time frames talked about here are unofficial. It's all pending/tbd until the units are actually in production. Even then some batches may not meet the strict quality control MV Designs complies with then that batch is likely headed to the garbage. They are an OEM vendor afterall.

Hang in there guys. I have a feeling the BRZ kits will be available not too long after the FRS kits are released.. but don't quote me on that!

Mike said they were working with PU and Fiberglass parts to see what works best for this application. PU is heavy compared to fiberglass when done right.

Ya I wouldn't mind the extra few pounds if it means forgiveness in even the slightest mishap.

Appreciate you taking the time to help answer some of our questions. This is exactly why I am willing to wait for this kit.. tell Mike he definitely has me as a buyer as soon as they go on sale. I wish I knew what the BRZ lip looked like because I would honestly buy a FRS front bumper just for this kit.

Will he be piecing it out or can you only buy the entire thing? Not too sure I want to go with the rear diffuser but I love everything else. Any idea what the rear spoiler is going to look like?
