They are starting to have that air of arrogance about them, aren't they? No longer are they racing for pink slips. Now they're racing for freedom.
I think they owe it to the fans to have at least one obligatory street race. It's what made the movies so appealing. Kind of like watching a Ken Block video and wishing YOU could drive fast around those parts where you know you're not allowed to. How many of us wished we could tow a giant vault behind our cars and sling them around a city? Not I, said the little black duck. |

Yeah it is, and the BRZ is parked where there was a GTR. Looks like the same "driveway" from the end. And it doesn't look like they defaced our car too much, so thats nice.

But on the other hand, the franchise originated around street racing and continued to revolve around it, which is what made it so fascinating in the first place. Obviously there is still action, but the street racing scenes are the ones that really help you "feel" the sensation of speed, plus they are the ones that I find myself re-watching. Sure, Fast Five definitely had the most well-developed plot and script of all of them, but I still end up watching the race scenes from the first movie the most, followed by the drift scenes in Tokyo Drift. The street racing is a big part of the franchise, and you can't just eliminate it and abandon what made it a successful franchise to begin with. For example, if The Dark Knight Rises kept all of the chase scenes involving the Batpod, the Bat and the Tumblers but didn't have the scenes of Batman going toe to toe with Bane, would it have been interesting? Sure, it wouldn't have been as "dark" (which was one of the criticisms of people who aren't big Batman fans and likely also of parents of young kids as well), but Batman is a crime fighter, and anyone who knows anything about Bane (other than what was in Batman & Robin) knows that he is brutal, which can't be depicted without hand-to-hand combat. The absence of those scenes would've made the movie a little boring, even with the same script writing and special effects. |

Reading your post in my head made me feel like I was listening to Jesse (from the first movie) telling Dom what was under the hood of the Eclipse.

To me it looks like a euro plate mount, not a relocate, which would explain the JDM markers, maybe its just not a US spec.

I wasn't paying attention to the size of the plate. Not sure how I thought it was mounted at the tow hook. I must've just glanced. Pretty derpy of me. Good eye! It would be easier to have EDM BRZ's in Europe, wouldn't it? hahaha

Yeah, that BRZ might still be in London. A friend ran into Luda at the airport in London and just uploaded their pic yesterday.

My girlfriend works in the fashion/apparel industry, and someone she was closed to worked with them on their outfits used in Fast Five... I'll ask if she's still friends with that same woman and see if she knows if she's doing anything for this one.
