If i buy anything, it would be this!

http://www.roadrover.cn/e/products_view.php?id=101

It's their Android system so basically the same as the Parrot and hardware is about the same if I remember correctly.

Now that I like!! I'm not seeing a Toyota version though.

This complicates things a bit. Parrot would give you the best possible user interface, support, apps, etc but the Roadwarrior fits perfectly.

Once again form vs function vs availability.

Im confused with all these options. Would have to do like a workshop to review and play with all of them.

Yep, Parrot is guaranteed to be good but when it comes to the others I'd definitely want to play with it first.

most of the internal components of the parrot prolly comes from China anyway. But will have quality standards from Parrot

Yep, exactly. I've read about some people complaining about the Caska's software and lack of updates, also some failed units but then I've also read about some very happy customers so I guess it's a bit of a hit & miss affair.

My money is still on the Parrot, they've always had a brilliant reputation.

What we actually need is for Toyota to start supplying a 2DIN replacement fake carbon cover. That would be the perfect solution because then you could fit any unit and it would look stock.

Yep, and their own software/UI.

it reminds me a bit of TV's these days - everybody keeps saying that the actual panels are from Samsung so a Sinotech/no name brand should be just as good but it never actually is.

Yeah... that would be the best solution. I wonder if they'd consider it.... Let's hope

Not sure but I wouldn't be surprised if an aftermarket one popped up eventually.

I had a look at the covers over the weekend, it's just plastic wrapped in vinyl, so we just need to find out where we can get some of it.

Are you sure? They were off when the radio was installed and it looked printed?

Aha cool, I didn't notice that. Thanks, I doubt you'd be able to get the same though - that is is a very special pattern created by Toyota. If you look closely it's a "T", same as used in the front grille and everywhere else.

Maybe we could get some printed by a vinyl shop?
