Not only do you have to buy new headlights, but you'd have to change a lot of stuff. It's not plug and play lol.

I got the The Install Bay IBHS3 seat heaters which are soon to be installed with my Clazzio leather kit. It comes all wired up with a harness that you can unplug at various points to make it easier to install. The switch is already wired up and has separate temperature level selectors for the left and right. I plan on taping into the 12v cigarette lighter power and just need to figure out what to do with the wires on the switch to control the illumination but it shouldnt be too hard. I got it for $80 at sonicelectronix.com. Quality looks decent. Might try wiring it up this weekend just to make sure it works before the Clazzios get here and just leave the pads on the back seat for the time being.

Take some pics. I'd be interested in how that turns out, as I pretty much am thinking of doing the exact same thing.

will do. I already have the heater kit and the Clazzios will be here Friday. The main power should be easy enough. I'm just real confused as to what i'm going to do with the switch as far as wiring for that. The instructions mention 3 wires but there's only 2. Apparently theres 2 versions of the same thing but only instructions for one.

So, Today I secured a pair of BRZ limited seats and some other required parts from a donor car that's getting converted to a purpose built track car....

...between BRZ's wiring disgram and after getting everything I needed out of actual car today this is what i learned:

1) Toyoabru's wiring harnesses appears to be option specific. The harness segment providing the wires for the heated seat switches also services the VSC and the 2nd 12v power jack in the center console. At the seats themselves you find more of the same. Those segments have the connections for the seatbelt latch/passenger sensor, the airbag, and the seat heaters.

We ended up identifying the needed connectors, undid 8"- 10" of the harness wrap and sniped off the connectors I needed because the donor BRZ still needed most of it's harnesses functionality intact. Just for giggles I'm going to stop by a Subaru dealer and see how easy it is to get this stuff

2) Each side (Driver/Passenger) will need it's own 10amp circuit. I think the easiest way to accomplish this to run 12v power direct from the battery into a fused distribution block I'm going to install inside the center console plastics and connect that to a simple harness I'm going create for this install.

3) The center consol itself is a different part number because the switches clip into these molded pockets that's been tooled into the center console plastic. So the parts required (so far) to do this are:

1 Heated Drivers Seat
1 Heated Passenger Seat

1 Drivers Side Switch [Blue]
1 Passenger Side Switch [White] (Believe it or not they are different part numbers and the plugs are color coded!)

1 Drivers Side Switch Plug [Blue] (4-wire)
1 Passenger Side Switch Plug [White] (4-wire)

1 Drivers Seat Heater Plug (3-wire)
1 Passenger Seat Heater Plug (3-wire)

1 BRZ Limited Center Consol

1 4 circuit distribution block (for future projects!)

...plus an assortment of wire, shrink wrap, solder and misc hardware to make a solid ground connection.

I'm busy this weekend but I'll have it in the following weekend and a complete DYI shortly after...

I think there're two 10 amp fuses labeled seat heaters on the fuse block, couldn't those be tapped?

I'm very interested to see how this turns out.

I will look into it but I'm not optimistic they are wired up

Waiting for Parts

To everyone who's subscribed to this thread I apologize for the delay. I've been waiting for some parts before I do this install; since I'm going to have so much of the interior apart it made sense. Today I received a message that my OEM armrest is shipping so within the next week or so I'll install everything and will report back.
