And my 3rd tank of gas with the MANUAL transmission was 33.00 mpg, so if you're only buying an auto for better gas mileage, throw that thought out the window. Would that be hand crank window or electric??

well you just heard him, he doesn't want HIDs or Navi. Or a lot of the other things it seems. It's only worth the money if you care for or want these things. So get the FR-S, OP, and live without the keyless system. I have the smart key system in my Lexus, but I didn't care that much that I wasn't getting them in my Premium. It's a different kind of car, for a different kind of purpose. I'm okay with turning the key myself to start the car, and having to pull the key out of my pocket to get in.

How was your purchasing experience? Did they ship directly to you or did they ship to a local dealer? How much was transit/delivery costs?

I see one on their website that I might consider getting. If you can, I'd love to know the details. Thanks!

Wonder when the 2014 will come out? I am still waiting to drive a Focus ST3 when they come out to make up my mine. I fear by the time this happens, I am going to be on the tail end of the 2013, and matter as well wait to see if anything changes on the next year model. (the ST3 going to have to be great to pull me away from this car, but for my needs it would be more practical.)

I think push to start is dumb. Our Mazda has it and my BMW (that I sold for the BRZ) had it. I like regular old keys better.

I see tons of cars that have several trims that you can then add packages to. The BRZ premium starts with stuff base that I don't care to pay for, and then to get some things I do want I have to upgrade the trim level even further and get even more things that I don't care about. It's that simple. I'm not asking for the world, I just hate being forced to buy a TV AND a Bluray player AND a new rug in a package when all I want is the new TV. Trim levels and packages do change with time hence my question and "what would you do" thoughts. Thanks to those that got it.
Your just a whiner dude accept it. Those are the trims that Subaru offered and offcourse it's take it or leave it. " You hate this you hate that" we'll the. Take off the things that you dnt like.

I disagree with this completely, lol. I hate fumbling for keys every time I go to get in the car. To each their own.

I don't really think of it as fumbling. My keys are always in my pocket. House keys, car keys, mail keys, work keys, etc. When I drive cars with push button, I have to leave my keys in my pocket; they tend to fall out during spirited drives and then I'm like WTF where are my keys? So I guess you could say I fumble for keys more when the car doesn't need them.

+1 like when your hands are full carrying stuff in/out of your car. Plus less chance of misplacing/dropping your keys if they're always in your pocket. Having to use keys for my other car has evolved into a minor nuisance. :p

Easy fix: Wear pants with deeper pockets.

I've had the same problem and would lose my phone and wallet under the seat before my keys.

I completely disagree with this. I think that the colors offered all look great on the car. And while I think Cement is a cool color, it's also a Toyota color, and I suppose they just decided the only Toyota color should be the exclusive Hot Lava. Bit of a pity, really.

Pearl white is brilliant though. I blame the 370Z for turning me on to pearl white on sports cars.

I tested the new Focus ST on Saturday, and it is amazing. The engine sounds and feels wonderful, the balance is fabulous for front-wheel-drive, and the shifter and clutch feel like they came from Honda. The EPS has great on-center feel, which is a huge plus IMO. I did not enjoy it as much as the FR-S I drove a few months back, but for a practical daily driver the Focus ST would be tough to beat for many car freaks. Unfortunately I'm not sure it would work for me, because the huge turning radius would be a real hassle where I live in downtown Philadelphia, and I think my wife would hate the tight fitting Recaros. I also think my kids would hate the firm ride on family road trips -- but only because they've forgotten how it felt in my old Saab! Overall it's a home run. Honestly, I thought it was more fun to drive then the new BMW 328i Sport Line.

I don't think you know what whining means. If anything your post is a much better example. Trim levels and what comes with them changes, so no it's not just take it or leave it. Sometimes wait is the answer.
