Black and Raw @Brian@Vortech ...possible recommendation is keep costs low to sell more of them, keep them plain...maybe ...hmmmmm...... limited number of pre orders in black would be fun marketing given this thread? can that happen?

I would be completely happy with "sandcast aluminum," but if it was black, that would not stop me from buying it. If it cost more because it was black, that might.

Right.

I am torn between this and the AVO kit now as well, looking forward to seeing the numbers.

My election to go with Vortech was not simple, for me: I wanted to supercharge, I wanted no lag, stomp on it power to exit corners with. I've got turbo'd cars, after hard use, I find myself challenged by the heat soak associated with turbos, the hot temps of exh gas that accelerate oil temps and overall underhood temps. plus lag. Much of this is averted with an efficient belt driven turbine.

as far as the companies go, both are big, According to their websites info on US presence:

16 US based dealers on Avo's site, and no US based HQ or facility it seems;

vs.

265 dealers on Vortech's side, and they are a US based headquartered company. Not that it matters to everyone...

Also, I see that Vortech manufactures under ISO9001. The standards US based companies have to adhere to are often higher than off shore outfits.

Additionally, California, as a state boasts even higher standards, so there is a benefit to dealing with companies that have to meet all those stringent standards...

this translates to my & my motor's safety....

I wasnt able to find anything on AVO when googling for their ISO 9000 docs. They do have a rep here in usa named paul, and a PO Box, and thats great, but one look at Vortech's, staff, accolades, heritage stateside, and...

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...try=US#heading

vs.

http://www.avoturboworld.com/index.p...=222&Itemid=54

not to mention their US based facilities, and history of bolt on DIY kits that work, 50 state emissions and CARB for those who need that etc-not sure AVO offers 50 state legality..
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...em.php?gik=373

I'm liking Vortech's support, as I grow, my setup grows, and my skills grow. Upgrades are part of their culture from a design level-, again, I gotta keep my mouth shut here with regards to disclosure..
