Can i paint over plastidip?

i was thinking about doing a black plastidip. then using rustoleum to paint over it. it would be cheaper and also i have more colors to choose from.

Yes, u can. It's still "pealable" but takes years. dipyourcar on youtube has a video that he sprayed other paint over plastidip.

Himmmm,,, I may have to try this b-4 I invest in new rims. I have an Argento FR-S and wanted to put Bronze rims on it. It looks like I can make bronze using the Gold.

First of all, your cans need to be warm and you need to shake it vigorously to allow the spray to be misty. Then you have to apply very light coat, the first coat you should still be able to see the old colors more than you should see the new one and give it at least 20 minutes for each coat. You also need to apply it evenly so you wont have to overspray a certain area.

Yes. I masked off the chrome bit on the side to balance out the chrome areas within the housing. I didn't like how it looked doing the whole thing black except the high beam reflector like everyone else does.

Doing mine next week. Looks like the Lowes in my area sells plasti dip and the gold metalizer!

Plan of attack:
Base coat of flat black
2-3 layers of gold metalizer

Ill post my results next weekend

If you dont mind me asking, how many layers of gold metalizer and copper did you apply to your wheels? Im looking for that exact shade of gold on my whiteout myself. Thanks in advance.

Why not get the vintage gold plasti dip from dipyourcar? Won't need any base coatings.
