for those that are curious what the silver metalizer looks like.

i've only done the rear wheels but here is an idea what it looks like vs stock.

i was pretty surprised to how close it looked to asphalt paint.

I'm thinking of trying it starting with the white Plasti-Dip instead of the back so I can get a bright gold effect. Has anyone tried this yet?

Depending on how close you spray, the further you spray the more textured it becomes (not exactly what you want on rims), but if you spray closer its smooth and just has kind of a rubbery feel but its like still solid (kind of hard to explain).

I just use simple green and just dilute it a bit if you want and give it a scrub and it should be clean after you rinse, just becareful and not get it on your paint may not be good for it (I think )

I used to use simple green to remove the soot from the bumper off my jetta tdi. It never had a negative effect, just make sure to rinse it off real good.

As long as you take it right off and/or rinse it off then you shouldn't have issues, especially with clearcoated paint. But you definitely don't want to let it sit on paint. When we would clean engine bays at my shop, some cars didn't seem to be sensitive, but others would wind up with color on the rag when you went to wipe it down.
Diluting it if you want to use it on a finished surface if you need to soak it a bit, but it will take wax and other coatings/sealants off, so if that's your goal, it will work well.

I tried the gold by itself. It looks fine in pictures, but in person they have a green-ish hue, so I decided to throw a coat of copper over the gold on mine.
