My silencers didn't fit either unfortunately. I'm hoping the tone of this exhaust changes a little after its broken in..

I'm still waiting on my ebay silencers to come in. I'll see how those do and post up my results. It's fine when you are on it. In fact I like it, but the drone above 3000 rpms is killing it for me. I can shift out of it below 55-60mph, but above that there's no hope. I don't mind on short trips, but no way in hell for long ones! hehe

Invidia needs to fix their silencers!!

My silencers fit, barely. I had to tap them in with a hammer. I ended up removing them though, because the sound wasn't near as good as without them. I believe the exhaust has gotten a little quieter as carbon has built up. Drone is still there, but I don't find it overbearing at all.

Yeah, I might have to buy another exhaust, I think I'm going to go deaf from the drone on my daily commute of 35 miles each way.. I've gotten like 3mpg better after installing the exhaust and a Perrin pulley though.

Has anyone tried putting sound deadening material in the trunk? I did this in my VW R32 when I put the Magnaflow on it. I used a foil roof patch material from Home Depot(looks kinda like Dynamat), it was less than $15 a roll(double layered it) worked great to break up the drone.

To everyone talking about drone, it does quiet down after breaking in a bit. I've also had no issues with the silencers.

I had to get my mechanic to chip off some of the parts on the silencers for it to fit perfectly.

I don't mind the drone, and I think that's because I'm so excited to have a brand new car. I mean, who wouldn't be excited coming from a 1992 beat up toyota 335k camry? lol.

And after driving a thousand miles (came back from Vegas) the drone did decrease.

Yeah drone is pretty loud on this exhaust. And my silencers won't fit either. Really hope they quiet down a bit

Well the EBay silencers did not help with the drone much. Maybe a few decibels, but that's it. I pulled them back out and will try to mod up the kit silencers. I love how this exhaust sounds getting on it. It's just the drone that kills it. I'll have to see how things are once it breaks in. Or just deal with it until I get a turbo. I might even consider modding the resonator.

You may want to try adding some fatmat to the trunk. I put some in mine and it really cut down the road noise and vibrations. I still have stock exhaust so dont really know if it will fix your problem but it sure did make a huge difference for me on stock setup.

I'll look into it, but I had no issues at all with the stock setup. I thought the stock setup was nice and quiet... hehe

Good luck! Our cars are completly void of any sound dampening in the trunk. I laid down 50sq ft in a day and even the stock radio sounds better. I only found 4 small sheets of OEM sound dampening in the entire car!

Yeah, our cars are nothing but a hunk of sheet metal with a dash kit thrown in. You got any pics of your handy work to give me an idea?

I looked in the audio build threads as there were plenty of photos in there as a guide. It's not a hard job but is time consuming. Doors now close with a pleasing "thunk" and tire noise is greatly reduced. Just make sure you use the supplied roller and a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the sheets before applying. We had a couple 80 degree days down in Georgia so I just let it sit in the sun prior to cutting and rolling.
