I have mine on the car now. I am really liking it. Definitely on the louder side, but I like my exhausts loud. I think it is great, but I wonder when I also do header, overpipe, resonated frontpipe how loud its going to be....

I've been eyeballing this exhaust to pair up with a Revworks UEL and a yet undetermined HF cat frontpipe.
On a scale of 1-10, stock exhaust being a 5, roughly how loud should I expect this to get? |

8.0 IMO of course I haven't been in a car with N1 myself where it didn't drone, each person has a different perception or opinion on what is loud, but to me it was far too loud for my personal liking. Videos are really hard to tell, if there is a local meet, heck if there is one 3-4 hours away, go and listen for yourself to decide that is best IMO.

Well like I said Jar, the videos IMO are really hard to tell, I needed to look around before my commitment was all. Being where you are there has to be a good chunk of peeps with the car and some different exhaust to listen to?

The N1 really is not that loud ("loudness" is extremely subjective - I have run much louder exhausts than the N1 on previous cars). Definitely louder than stock... yeah. But you can say that about any aftermarket exhaust on the market. Also it really makes a gargantuan difference if you ride in a car with an N1 how long they have used the exhaust. After carbon builds on it it literally sound like a different exhaust compared to a brand new N1. Drones much less after carbon and is a good bit quieter.

True however as the fellow noted by videos he actually thought the N1 was quieter then the Q300. Which in "real world" we know is hugely ass backwards, the N1 is not just a little louder the the Q300, it is a lot. Yes videos are astoundingly deceiving to say the least. Point is I was in same shoes I asked a ton based on videos, it was too damn hard so I seeked to listen and look in real life to at least make a sense able decision is all. Drone is not something I want to deal with, to some drone is music to me it's simply annoying.

Yep we agree there. Exhaust vids are well intended and I appreciate when people post them, but they are very hard to get the true sense of what an exhaust sounds like live in real life setting.
My point is, don't judge the N1 by how it sounds new. It sounds night and day different (for the better) after 2-3k miles of usage. I think people have a tendency to judge it by how it sounds new though. I did the same thing. Thought it was pretty loud new. Not so much after 2-3k. And I know that is not because I just got accustomed to it because exhausts on other cars of mine with similar situation that never happened. |
