I work in the importing industry so i understand all the unpredictable circumstance. Last week they confirmed that the car in a the vessel and thats all they had. I was expecting a estimated landing date so i can have a reference of what a eta for myself.

Besides letting me know the car is on the vessel they have no other information and that i should call back next week.

Just frustrated with all the mysteries

I sell Subarus and the supply has been erratic. The salesman will be able to see the status of your order. If it has progressed past the order process the updates come fairly quickly. It's out of the dealers hands.

You want satisfaction? Call Subaru of America with you Vehicle Order Number. You can complain to the people who might be able to help. But thats a Fuji Heavy Industry thing. I had a friend wait six months before canceling. I can't blame him.

I have spoken to Nearly everybody at SOA. They know me well. They promise to do research and call me back within 48 hours. I was told Sept, Oct, Nov. I have heard the word "sorry" at least 500 times. Still waiting 7 months.

I ordered in June and was told 10-12 weeks. At that time, I traded in my car and the dealer sold it a few weeks later. I had a car to borrow so it was no big deal. About a month ago, I contacted SOA directly and they said February is the best they can do (black manual premium). I told both Subaru and the dealer that I need the car based on my situation and not being able to borrow the car I had any longer. Subaru is giving me a $500 loyalty incentive and the dealer stepped up big time and gave me a 2012 Outback to drive until they have the car. They also arranged to get a white manual premium in that they are going to try to trade for a black or dark gray car at another dealer. Bad situation but great service from both parties!

That is a good dealer. I applaud their effort.

I also understand everyone and their pain. All of my initial allocation was sold before pricing was received and I have earned extras in the meantime many of my sold orders, last two to be exact, are finally arriving by the middle of next month.

I sense something similar about to develop with the six STis I have left on order. The first three arrived quickly. The build number is rumored to be low and Subaru is counting sold orders against the dealers allocation which is bad news for low volume areas.

Give your dealer a break as I'm sure they are doing what they can on their end, which isn't much. We place the order and HOPE it comes in promptly so our customers don't roast us on the CSI Surveys.

Sound very similar to my situation, i placed a deposit on the BRZ, had my car sold 2 weeks later. At the time i was borrowing my firend's spare car. No that he needs the car back i am carless with no answers.

I think the dealers have no idea when they are getting their cars. At best it's an educated guess. I thankfully found one other than the one I ordered...which I checked and still isn't in the dealers inventory as "In Transit". Originally I was told late September. Then told mid October. Then was told First week in November.

So glad I found an un-allocated one of my dreams. I encourage everyone else to do the same.

Sold orders do not show on a dealer site. Since they are already sold and all. My site shows only one inbound when I actually have two others.

+1

The first two BRZs preordered at my dealership haven't shown up yet. I am #2.

As President Obama would say, "These guys are all over the map!"

Even more impressive is that one of the owners was driving it and gave it up for my use.

Got a call from my sales rep today and he said they are now showing a scheduled date of November 28th for my car. He said he wasn't sure what changed but that it is now showing in their pipeline. I actually have been enjoying driving the Outback...it is a nice vehicle. The AWD and heated seats would have been nice to have for most of the winter but the RWD with Altimax tires on the BRZ will be much more enjoyable.
