I'm considering doing this with the stockers to hold me off for this season. It's not my optimal choice for the long term but would love to hear some success stories if you guys have got any.

Thanks!
It certainly isn't optimal, but there are guys doing it for autocrossing in stock classes where you're required to keep the stock sized wheel. Works a little better with R-comps, for a street tire you'd want something with a really stiff sidewall.

I thought Rota had wheel failure issues? They may have corrected the issue, but I'd hate to have a wheel fail on track in the fashion I remember from old pictures of Rotas.

I think they had some batch issues years ago, but the thing about Rotas is that they are very popular because of the price, so naturally there are more out there to fail.

anectodally, I don't know anyone whose Rota's have failed on them.

nope, any failed wheel would have been caused by some sort of impact

Rota wheels are used on MANY track cars, including 600+HP GST Motorsports, Snail Performance, UMS Tuning, LIC Motorsports, and a lot more time attack cars that go off course once in a while too

Any of them will vouch for Rotas.

A good track wheel is the new Rota Grid 2, 17x8 +38mm offset, perfect for this car if you're looking for a 17x8 wheel

Feel free to contact us if you're interested

17x9 DPT's are 19lbs, that is the lightest 17x9 wheel we have.

17x8 DPT's are 18.2lbs, that is the lightest 17x8 wheel we have.

What's the next lightest wheel?

(The thin spokes on the DPT kinda scare me.. )

next thing would be the Grids at ~20lbs

However, rest assured the DPT's have been track proven on everything from Subarus to M3's

I have a set of DPT's that I use on my personal M3 that i've driven on the track multiple times without any issues and all our sponsored time attack cars have run DPT's as well, they are an EXTREMELY strong wheel

I was impressed with the build quality of the dpt's but when I consider cheap I'd say no more than 600/set. I got something in mind will send u a pic shortly.
