without it, i would have to get the wires spliced...

You can jam the wires into the correct OEM harness pin holes until you get the harness from SVXdc. He just does this on the side and it can take some time to get a harness from him.

If you put them in well, they'll hold fine. You should consider doing this anyway to test the camera on the head unit.

Did it a year ago and still works a treat.
I also siliconed in some colorless clear plastic across where the lights shine out to prevent dust getting up onto the bulbs and water getting into the wiring. I was surprised the light shone through open holes on our car but believe some cars have covers. Siliconed around the key hole too.
Also similarly seal around the numberplate ... grit and arachnoids get in behind

i tried contacting SVXdc to order the harness, but to no avail... i know he can be a little difficult to get a hold of sometimes.

i am taking my car into a shop tomorrow for tint/fog lights/backup camera install and i plan to give the installers this guide:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=157

hopefully they can figure it out and get it to work...

Gl, bro. Otherwise, I am sure we can talk you through it ourselves. Honestly, the harness doesn't have to hold you up.

hey thanks man... i am a huge DIY guy, or i used to be at least... now i am physically not capable of doing this type of installation, so that is why i am having a shop do it.

the shop is reluctant to install the cam without the harness, so i will wait to hear back from SVXdc to order.

SVXdc is a little backlogged right now. Took him about a week to get back to me but I ordered yesterday. Super good dude.

alright, i got my harness from SVXdc and had my Rydeen Duo installed today, but the guidelines on my screen is totally off:

i'm not sure if those guidelines are from the camera or the head unit, but it does look different than some others i have seen on here...

as you can see, i have the pioneer unit and i do not know how to go into the HU's diagnostics mode to fix the guidelines...

anyone happen to know how i can access this feature?

i found a random thread stating to hold down the audio button and flip the parking light 3 times, so i will give that a try later... hope it works.

That is how you access the diagnostics mode but our headunit does not support parking guide lines those are put on there by the backup cam.

You can remove them by connecting the two green wires together that're in that connector that connects the camera to it's harness. (it's in that small bit of heatshrink tubing)

You might be able to get the shop that installed your backup cam to adjust it until it's straight, yours look a little crooked, but they'll still be offset and off center

Nah apparently not lol, I have the same backup camera on the same headunit, since the camera is offset the built in lines suck anyway, it's not that hard to get used to

Ordering my 16 Pin harness from SVXdc and Rydeen Backup Camera.

I'm looking forward to this upgrade.
