Possible mod to start with.

On intakes. One of last month's car magazines had an article on intakes. They dyno'd 10 of them. Some didn't do anything. Some gave better top end. SOme had gains throughout the range. There were two or three good ones at the top. The one that came out on top to me with the best over all increase was the Injen. It had decent low and mid range with 7 whp on top. There were a couple of others that had 7 whp but not quite as strong in the other ranges. I should have bought the magazine so I could quote it with more detail.
It may have been Modified magazine but not sure.

I've been eyeing the injen intake but to get most out of that intake you'll have to get it tuned. Nevertheless I would still get it for the increase looks lol

I really want to hear what people with tuned BRZs would do differently if they could.

I am starting with 1.5k
Tires. Tires are the best way to improve performance.

If you're going to be autocrossing regularly, a dedicated set of wheels with high-performance tires is the best way to go. It's more economical since the tires won't get worn out with daily commuting, and they can be "no-compromise" grippy tires. Of course, the nice thing about living in Phoenix is that we can pretty much run streetable track tires year round if desired. Just be prepared to replace them more often than normal tires. The top performance tires right now are: Hankook R-S3, BFG Rival and Dunlop ZII. The Bridgestone RE-11As might also be worthy of that list, but they're still too new to tell. I'm probably going to pick up a set for DD at the end of the month, so I'll know more then.

If you do go with high-performance tires, I would suggest two supporting mods to help maximize performance, as high-grip tires will put more load on the suspension. First is camber bolts, they're cheap and available from any Subaru dealer, use them to get as much negative camber as possible. Second is a front sway bar (anti-roll bar, not strut bar). For a BRZ, I'd recommend only a slightly stiffer bar, for example, I have the 20mm solid Whiteline bar. Anything more than either a 20mm solid or 22mm hollow will probably be too much (that's a general guideline, bar stiffness is determined by other factors as well).

As far as power, I personally haven't done much more than a TRD drop-in filter (small gain) and a muffler delete axleback (probably no gain). The best value in power mods is probably an E85 tune, if you're willing to run E85 (this probably has warranty implications). Or even a pump gas tune can get more power, just not as much.

The other "big" mod I have is Koni sport shock absorbers. I don't know if I would necessarily recommend them, the increase in grip is good, but the stock dampers are good enough that it's not really necessary to replace them. The Konis are adjustable, which allows for a bit of tuning of the car's transitional balance, but it's mostly a "set it and forget it" thing. For anyone not restricted by classing, saving the money for an upgrade to coilovers with quality damping is probably better.

I'm going to be 'that guy' and mention that, although the graphics are quite impressive for a console game (especially if the trailer was recorded on a 360 or PS3), they've been around for a couple of years on the PC, even in the same genre. Check out videos of Just Cause 2, a game much like the GTA series that came out over three years ago. The graphics, in my opinion, are very similar to GTA5. The character models on JC2 are actually far better than GTA5... I was surprised to see how bad they were in the GTA5 gameplay trailer that's been shared all over the place in the last few days. The biggest improvements I see in GTA5 is that there is a lot more of the 'little' things... like far more detailed urban environments (JC2 is mostly sparse jungle and desert terrain, and small suburban areas). The car customization is also a really nice feature.

I'm sure I will have plenty of fun with GTA5 as well, but I just find it interesting that many people are blown away by the graphics. I understand there are probably far more console gamers these days than there are PC gamers though... /nerd

Annoying that I can't paste YouTube links without the board auto-embedding the video

Autonation anyone? There has to be at least 1 dealer thatll care about my car.
A quick google maps search shows Earnhardt Toyota/Scion at the far east end of the 60. If you were to go by Google ratings, it has a far better rating than either of the two dealers you had problems with.... It's something anyway

I don't think there's a single person here who would complain. If anything, it would bring something interesting into the mix to break up the monotony

So tempting... too much going on right now for me to commit, but I will definitely keep it in mind if you guys end up going and I can make it.

Im going to agree here. Tune is great but hell tires are amazing. Drive stock for about 6 months first so you can appreciate the changes to the car more.
