Yes that trip was amazing. Definitely have to go back. Aside from getting pulled over 1 mile from my exit (no ticket) things went great. So ummmm Grand Canyon anyone?

I have the 13-14th and the 27-28th of July open.

And I swear I was doing 75 max..trust me traffic was there so i couldnt just openly cruise fast. Anyways as I passed him that got his attention, then Kyrsten got stuck behind a car so i kept changing lanes to get over for her to get behind me. He changed lanes right along with me and stayed behind me. Again I was thinking this guy was just being an ass because he was tailgating like none other. (i didnt know he was a cop at this point) So i switched lanes and super slowed down practically causing him to rear end me (emergency brake=no brake lights). He stayed on my rear end and while the whole time im trying to see where kyrsten is and she is behind him. so i wanted him to pass me, i change lanes so does he and when he does i change back super fast and thats when he finally turned on his lights...Then when he pulled me over the only thing he kept bringing up was how i passed him like he was standing still. He asked what the speed limit was on the 10 and i said I dont know 55? Then my insurance card expired and i didnt have my registration in the car...great...more to add to the ticket. Anyways when all was said and done he just said slow it down and continued to advise me the speed limit was 75 on the 10...isnt it actually 65? lol. Either way he could have gotten me for a lot of other stuff like tinted tail lights, etc, etc. I expalined i was having someone follow me and thats why i was switching lanes so that they could get behind me.

Finally ordered new front brake pads (ferodo DS2500). Turns out my stock ones don't like me all that much (wearing down way faster than I'd like to admit). They would be fine for this coming weekend, but for the money, its not worth it not to change them. RallySportDirect has a pretty quick turn around time for shipping since they are so close so it looks like friday or saturday morning I'll be disassembling the front brakes and swapping pads. After looking at the calipers, I really miss my motorcycle brakes, you didn't even have to take the calipers of the bike, just pop out the screw and roll pin holding the rear covers on, push the pistons back against the caliper, slide out old pads insert new ones, reassemble and off you go. This one looks like it's going to require more disassembly, but I'm not cracking any fluid lines if I can avoid it, I do NOT want to bleed them again.

The general procedure for sliding calipers is pretty easy and doesn't involve taking them off the car. I haven't done my pads yet (soon!), but when I pulled the rotors it didn't look like a pad change would be too difficult.

I'd love to see how the DS2500s do at the track this weekend.

I'll take a closer look when I actually have the pads in hand. They should be here by Wednesday, so maybe Thursday morning I'll hit up the auto hobby shop on base and swap them out. Then figure out how to bed them properly.
