It's coming along. I finished pretty much all the lower end. 14 hours last weekend putting the crank, pistons, rings, rods. I had no idea so much measuring was needed for bearing clearances but all is perfectly in spec.

Picked up a 7120 cast 4.0 head I'll be doing the 4.2 to 4.0 conversion to get another 40 hp

Well, I hope it works out for you, man. I am working on making a change myself and God willing it'll be a whole new career with better earning and growth potential.

Using stock parts from 4.2 and 4.0 you can make a 4.7 stroker. They're supposed to be pretty powerful.

Yeah I was reading about that. Gonna stick with this path right now.

Fun part is I ripped out the ecu and will be making my own wiring harness. I have a lot more reading to do on that one. I found a couple guys on vjc to help. It's almost overwhelming when you look at the cluster of wires but it really only needs about 6 wires to run. Figured i have to figure out the starting, run and charging circuits then separate gauges. Fun.

Vjc forum isn't like this forum where you can have ten guys come over to help with a project but it's a good group of people.
