I used Sustina for the last 5 years I was in Japan. Excellent oil, but for this car I am using Motul 8100 Eco Lite. I am going to switch my wife's Sonata over to Sustina once the deal Valvoline free crap is over.

Don't over oil your air filter. That's why people think oil can contaminate a maf sensor. Overoiling allows the extra oil that isn't absorbed by the media to come off and get on the sensor.

This has basically become my approach when I did the reading and stumbled on your thread. When I spoke with you you told me "the biggest obstinate for tuning is the overpipe, every thing else is just extra".

I replaced the overpipe, and am now saving for the tune. Will talk to you when I've banked some money.

Yes, I know. I was being fecitious. Which is why on my personal build and the rest of my fleet we have dry filters or factory ones. KnN is horrid for any vehicle. 20 years of maintaining C5, 9, 130, 141, F15, F16, E3, B1, Kc-135(all variants), C-17, RC-135, E-8 JSTARS, and pneudrauloc systems I am well versed in petroleum, oil, and lubricants, a.k.a., P.O.L. Or the 11 years living in Japan and being an understudy with an-ex WRC driver for Toyota.

Plus the 5 degrees I carry in management, fluid dynamics, and aerospace may play a small role in my knowledge. Not that I am an arrogant or anything.

All my years in Toyota offroad vehicles has taught me one thing. Oiled, high flow filters are terrible for engine life in this dry dusty environment. Race teams may use them, but thats because they don't give a flip about 100k miles. They just need to finish the race.
On my Landcruiser, I use the stock, washable air filter. Massive filtration area and water washable. I have 2. When I swap them, I wash the one and leave it to dry until I swap again. Water only.
I send yearly samples of oil to Blackstone Labs, to analyze my motor. So far, at 185k miles, my motor is running like new. I run Chevron Delo 400 15w40 at 7000 mile changes on my truck with great reports from Blackstone.

My plan for the FRS is dry filter only and nothing high flow. I drive it daily and I plan on driving it for years to come. High filtration rate is very important to me.
Not sure what everyone here does for oil, but after my warranty period, I will probably go with Mobil1 syn, unless future research changes my mind. I've spent a lot of time on BITOG and other tech sites, although, not with this motor in mind, but it's hard to beat M1 for most applications.
Of course, my truck puts out great numbers on dino oil at long changes. the 1FZFE is a great motor.

And...I'm totally fucked up. If I misspelled stuff or was incoherent, please forgive me.

Long week, way too many hours at work. I drank a lot tonight.
